The diagonal structure takes beautiful portraits.

Lead: Diagonal composition refers to the connection of two diagonals of an object in the picture, which is a highly directional composition form. Below we will explain how the graceful posture and the movement of the viewpoint in the composition combine to form an ideal picture through specific illustrations.

1. Diagonal composition consists of diagonal lines with beautiful posture.

Slant lines are changeable and dynamic. When expressing static, you can express a serious or quiet atmosphere through vertical lines or horizontal lines. When expressing the dynamics of the subject, curves and diagonal lines are often used to express it. In commercial shooting, most photos are vivid, which requires us to mobilize the body language of the subject to form a dynamic picture.

In front photos, if the head is also straight, the photo looks easy to lack changes, and when the head is close-up, it will look like a certificate photo, so we need to increase the richness and changes of the photo by reversing the head and turning the face orientation when shooting.

Figure 1

In the front photo of 1, we form a diagonal line through the model's head tilted to one side. In order to make the tilted head look more natural, we can use the aesthetic feeling of hands and the echo of the head as support.

Figure 2

In the six-head photo in Figure 2, we form a diagonal by tilting the head to the upper right corner of the picture, because the head echoes the lower left corner of the picture, forming a diagonal composition.

Attention should be paid to when taking profile photos:

Figure 3

In the side photo of Figure 3, the model's body leans forward to her legs, so that her head and waist form a diagonal line. The degree of tilt depends on our composition. We can see the corner of the head near the upper left of the picture in the frame until it forms a diagonal line with the body part at the lower right of the composition. When cutting, we often put our face in the center of the picture, so that a diagonal line is formed through the echo of our face and hands.

Figure 4

Figure 4 makes the picture echo the upper left corner and the lower right corner through the graceful posture of the model leaning forward, and the flowers in the hand and the raised face echo the upper right corner and the lower left corner of the picture. This kind of double diagonal shooting is also a common one. We often need to adjust the range of beauty in the picture to make its composition accurate.

In the sitting posture in Figure 5, the legs and head of the model naturally form a diagonal line. When cutting the picture, we need to observe and choose from the viewfinder, intercept the beautiful parts that can form the diagonal of the picture, or adjust the body parts that do not meet the needs of composition. The key parts in the adjustment are at the two ends of the diagonal, that is, the head or legs of the model. We can set one end first and then adjust the other end.

Figure 6

In the full-length photo in fig. 6, the skirt of the woman, the head and the head of the man form the diagonal of the picture. When composing a picture, diagonal lines are arranged on the diagonal of the picture to form a diagonal composition. Many beautiful postures of two people are composed of high and low, and when there are high and low, the diagonal line of the picture is formed between them. We just need to arrange the two ends of the diagonal on the diagonal of the picture. Diagonal diagonal divides the picture into two right triangles, so diagonal composition is still a form of psychological stability, although the lines are inclined.

Second, through the beautiful posture and background, props and space echo, forming a diagonal composition.

In diagonal composition, the diagonal relationship can be formed not only by the lines of beautiful posture, but also by the echo of beautiful posture with other parts of the picture.

Figure 7

In the photo of Figure 7, the main pattern on the background is a big flower. We can deliberately arrange the beautiful posture to form a diagonal relationship with the pattern under the flower, and at the same time pull the skirt to make the head of the skirt form a diagonal line on the other side when adjusting, which can make the picture more static and stable. In commercial shooting, there are many uneven patterns on the background. We can adjust the position and height of the characters to match the pattern on the background.

When shooting, we can often use the beauty of various props and subjects to form a diagonal line. For example, tall people and low props will form a diagonal line, and vice versa. You can also use the props in the hands of the subject to form a diagonal line with the main line of the body, and use various seats flexibly.

Figure 8

In Figure 8, I used a high position for overhead shooting. In order to enrich the composition of the picture, I asked the model to put the bouquet on the corner of the picture and adjust the model's face into a diagonal line to form a diagonal line with the bouquet.

All the above are diagonal compositions formed by the adjustment of beauty. In actual shooting, beauty and composition affect each other, and we will deliberately adjust the camera angle to change the perspective.

Figure 9

In Figure 9, the shoulder of the model hooked forward is in the lower right corner of the figure, so it forms an echo relationship with the space in the upper left corner; Processing the diagonal formed by the convex surface on the diagonal formed by the upper right corner and the lower left corner of the screen makes the diagonal composition more natural and attractive.

Third, the diagonal composition is formed by reversing the position.

Reversing the camera position is a special skill in photographic composition. We generally use two situations. One is to deliberately straighten some unchangeable diagonal lines by rotating the camera when shooting; The other is to pursue the movement of the picture or make the best use of the length space of the picture, and rotate the camera to make the subject in the diagonal relationship of the picture when shooting.

Figure 10

In figure 10, we rotate the camera so that the hands, head and body of the model are on the diagonal line from the lower left corner to the upper right corner of the picture. In order to make the static beauty more stable, we also make the model's face on the diagonal line formed by the upper left corner and the lower right corner of the picture when composing the composition.
