What is the largest existing royal garden in China?
There is a big lake to the southeast of the villa. Along the north bank of the lake, nine small pavilions with different styles stand among weeping willows. There are three pavilions on the sluice at the end of Hunan, named Shui Xin Pavilion. A big island in the lake is called Ruyizhou. There are three quadrangle-style buildings on the mainland, surrounded by cloisters, which are always called moonlight and river sound. The lake here is abundant and covered with pines and cypresses, which is the place where the emperor studied in summer. There is a Violet Island in the northwest of Ruyi, and there is only one Zhu Lan Bridge between the two islands. The misty rain building on the island was built during the Qianlong period, imitating the artistic conception of the misty rain building in Jiaxing, Zhejiang. The building is two stories high, with red columns and green tiles, and eaves galleries on all sides. In front of the building is a long and narrow courtyard, with Qingyang Bookstore on the left and Duishan Zhai on the right. A group of buildings in the West Lake are modeled after the Jinshan Temple in Zhenjiang. There is an arc corridor near the water, with the water mirror cloud facing west and the Tianyu paddock hall facing south. Behind the two halls, there is a stone mountain. There is a pavilion with six sides and three floors on the mountain. There is a ladder in the pavilion. You can climb the stairs. This is the commanding height of buildings in the lake area. From a distance, you can have a panoramic view of the mountains and rivers of the whole villa.
