How advanced users choose their first full-frame camera?

Lead: The specification of 35mm Quan Huafu has always been the dream of many photographers, and with the release of a series of Quan Huafu models with less than 10,000 yuan, this dream has gradually become out of reach. But at the same time, too many choices mean doing more homework to decide the final model before buying, especially for people who have just decided to buy a full-frame camera but are not so experienced in buying it.

Compared with APS-C format, Quan Huafu has the following advantages:

The focal length conversion coefficient is 1.0, which is convenient for lens selection and use.

Wide-angle advantage, after all, it is difficult for a telescopic lens to achieve 8- 12mm, while a Quan Huafu SLR lens with a physical focal length of 14- 18mm is obviously more comfortable in this respect.

High ISO advantage. A larger photosensitive area can bring better signal-to-noise ratio.

Dynamic range advantage. Another product with high SNR.

Resolution advantage. Quan Huafu sensor adopts a larger lens image field, which relatively reduces the pressure of the lens on small area resolution, thus obtaining better physical resolution performance.

Depth of field advantage. The same viewing angle requires a longer physical focal length on the Quan Huafu sensor, so that a shallower depth of field can be obtained.

The optical viewfinder module of a full-frame camera will also be larger, which looks wider and more comfortable to watch. Of course, at present, the only thing that Quan Huafu has not adopted is EVF? In fact, it can also provide a better framing experience than APS-C SLR.

More professional control and fuselage settings. This usually appears in high-end Quan Huafu models.

Full-frame cameras are not perfect, are they? Compared with APS-C format model, it also has its own shortcomings:

The lens cost is high. The manufacturing cost of large field lens is high.

There is no 1.5- 1.6 at the telephoto end? The conversion coefficient will be slightly unfavorable.

The fuselage and lens are larger than APS-C format, and the relative portability is poor.

When using the same type of focusing module, the coverage of the focus will become smaller, which will bring some trouble to focusing.

If you think that you care about more than three of the advantages of 1-8, or are almost paranoid about one, then you should put the purchase of Quan Huafu models on the agenda. For advanced users, they have certain shooting experience, are sure of the subject they want, and are good at shooting. Next, I will take this as the main line to recommend the mainstream Quan Huafu models on the market, and you can buy them according to your own needs.

Landscape photographer

Advantages needed: 2, 3, 4, 5; Disadvantages you may care about: 3

Recommended models (entry level): Nikon D6 10, Sony A7.

Recommended models (fever grade): Nikon D800/D800E, Sony A7R.

There is no doubt that Nikon D6 10 has advantages in landscape photography. 24 million pixels can not only meet the needs of landscape photography, but also have the available dynamic range of 14EV, which is not inferior to the higher-end D800 series and has better light adaptability. The design of D7 100 miniature body makes it as portable as APS-C format products.

Nikon's lens products for landscape photography are also abundant. It is suggested that friends who choose this camera for landscape photography can match three kinds of lenses: 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G, 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR, 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR. The sharpness of these three lenses under a small aperture can be completely guaranteed, and they are light, portable and inexpensive, which is really a good choice for landscape photography.

Sony A7 is also a good choice for landscape photography. As a mirrorless camera, its focusing system is slightly weaker than Nikon D6 10 (mainly reflected in the focusing speed), but landscape photography is generally a slow shooting activity, and the focusing speed is relatively low, which is just the best stage for mirrorless cameras to develop their strengths and avoid their weaknesses.

Compared with D6 10, portability is its most prominent advantage, and EVF's WYSIWYG feature is also more suitable for landscape photography. However, the current lens group is slightly insufficient for landscape photographers, especially the lack of support from native FE super wide-angle lenses, which limits its performance in this field. Fortunately, the short flange distance of E-mount 18mm is very convenient, and the shortage of the original lens can be made up by switching. Now, through the cracking of relevant domestic personnel, autofocus can be realized when using Canon lens? The speed is not very fast, but it is quite enough for landscape photography.

Recommended lens collocation (regardless of switching): FE 28-75mm f/3.5-5.6, Fe 70-200 mm f/4 g.

Recommended lens collocation (consider switching): Canon EF 17-40mm f/4Lisum, 24-70mm f/4Lisum, 70-300mm f/4-5.6Lisum.

The reason why I recommend to match Canon's new mistress is mainly to consider the applicability of autofocus ring and Canon's three lenses in landscape photography. If you need fast autofocus and other shooting needs, you can also consider LA-EA4 adapter ring with Sony A bayonet lens.

D800/D800E, A7R and D6 10, A7 are very similar, but they all have sensors with higher resolution than the latter two, and they also need to invest more in lens matching to play the sensor level. With the right lens, 36.3 million pixels and no low-pass filter technology, it can bring you a completely different shocking shooting experience.

Many people will struggle? Which should I choose, D800 or D800E? This question. What is Nikon official website's suggestion? Please choose D800 when you don't know which one to choose. And D800E is for people who know why they choose it. ? But considering the consumption and usage habits of Chinese people, I suggest changing it to? When you don't know which one to choose, please give priority to D800E, because you will regret not buying it sooner or later. ?

Lens collocation is harsh, and it is best to match the ternary combination of 14-24mm f/2.8, 24-70mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8. It is not recommended to use a fixed-focus lens in pursuit of the ultimate resolution, because taking landscape photos with a fixed-focus lens requires very high composition skills of photographers and is not suitable for photographers who have just transitioned to Quan Huafu.

For Sony A7R camera, its comparison with D800E is very similar to A7 and D6 10. If you want to use it flexibly in landscape photography, it is recommended to consider changing the lens. Fortunately, as a universal 135 digital back, users can choose the best lens at each focal length to match this body. This is an advantage that users of other brands cannot enjoy.

Recommended lens collocation (regardless of rotating mirror): FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA, Fe 70-200 mm f/4 g.

Recommended lens configurations (consider switching): Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II, Sony 70-400mm f/4.5-5.6G SSM II.

These three lenses are the best products among all kinds of wide-angle, medium-focus and telephoto zoom lenses at present. With the Sony A7R363,000-pixel low-pass sensor, the photos can be clear and sharp in each focal segment.

Portrait photographer

Required advantages: 1, 2, 6, 7, 8; Disadvantages you may care about: 4

Recommended model (entry level): Nikon D6 10

Recommended models (fever grade): Canon EOS 5D Mark III, Nikon D800.

Because portrait photography can't avoid capturing pictures, it requires a higher camera focusing system, so Quan Huafu is generally not recommended. At the same time, portraits will use lenses with various focal lengths. In order to obtain the effect of large aperture and shallow depth of field, we should consider multiple fixed-focus lenses? Quan Huafu's weak lens group and slow focusing speed after switching make it unsuitable for this job. Of course, switching the original A-mount lens with LA-EA4 can solve this problem, but I suggest that users who intend to match this way buy a Sony A99.

The focusing system of D6 10 is the same as that of D7000/D5200/D5300, and it works well in APS-C format. However, after changing to full frame, the coverage area has not changed much obviously, but it still retains the complete and easy-to-use additional focusing functions such as 3D matrix focusing, which is fully qualified for portrait shooting. At the same time, Nikon's recently released f/ 1.8 series fixed-focus lens group is not only of good quality, but also relatively low price, which is very suitable for shooting portraits with D6 10, an entry-level digital SLR camera.

Nikon D6 10' s focus coverage area meets the needs of portrait shooting.

Suggested lens matching: Nikon 28mm f/ 1.8G, 35mm f/ 1.8G(FX), 50mm f/ 1.8G, 85mm f/ 1.8G, Sigma Art 35mm f/1.

Nikon D800. For portrait photographers, it is less significant to consider D800E than landscape photographers. First, in the end, there must be steps such as peeling, and the advantage of high resolution is difficult to play. Secondly, models can't avoid wearing fine mesh clothes such as gauze skirts, and the probability of moire stripes is relatively high. Once this happens, if the original RAW file is not preserved, it will be very difficult to handle.

D800 adopts 5 1 dot CAM 3500 focusing module, which covers a much larger area than D6 10, and the composition will be more comfortable. And inherited the 9 1000 pixel RGB photometric element of the top machine D4? This means that it has the function of OVF face recognition, which is very practical in portrait shooting and worth considering by portrait photographers.

In terms of matching lenses, in order to match the 36-megapixel sensor, we can consider the golden circle fixed-focus lens. 35mm f/ 1.4G, 58mm f/ 1.4G and 85mm f/ 1.4G are all very good choices.

The advantages of Canon EOS 5D Mark III in portrait photography are beyond doubt. The convenience and reliability brought by 6 1 point and 4 1 point cross focusing systems make portrait shooting very easy, and Canon's unique f/ 1.2 series fixed-focus lenses also make it even more amazing in portrait shooting. Although it does not inherit the face recognition ability of top machine optical framing, it does not affect its position in the hearts of portrait photographers. After all, the first two generations of 5D series products can still be the best choice for portrait photographers under the condition of adopting a very general focusing system. After greatly strengthening the focusing system, 5D3 will certainly perform more prominently in portrait photography, and the value of 22.3 million pixels can fully meet the needs of portrait photography.

Recommended lenses: 35mm f/ 1.4L, 50mm f/ 1.2L, 85mm f/1.2l ii.

It's a waste to enter the Canon door without experiencing the Canon f/ 1.2 series lens group. Moreover, the super-large aperture of f/ 1.2 can improve the effect of portrait photography, and everyone can understand and feel it. Of course, 24-70mm f/2.8L II and 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II can also be considered, and zooming sometimes comes in handy.

Humanistic documentary photographer

Required advantages: 1, 3, 5; Disadvantages you may care about: 3

Recommended models (entry level): Nikon D6 10, Canon EOS 6D, Sony A7.

Recommended model (fever grade): Sony RX 1R

Documentary photography needs quick response, capturing ability, concealment and mobility. Quan Huafu SLR camera is not suitable because the large equipment will bring great pressure to the subject. Cameras like Nikon D6 10/ Canon 6D have the mobility and portability similar to APS-C format products and the high quality of Quan Huafu, so the choice of documentary photographic equipment is also worth considering.

Quan Huafu's greatest advantage here is that it is very convenient to choose a 35mm fixed-focus lens? However, APS-C frame needs a lens of 24mm to get a visual angle of 35mm, which wastes the image field and cannot guarantee the image quality and depth of field effect at all.

6D's best ability is night adaptation? The sensitivity of ISO 102400 is optional, and ISO 12800 is available, which makes it have a very strong dark light shooting ability, and the feature supported by the center -3EV makes it no longer difficult for the camera to focus in a dirty and weak light environment. Wi-Fi is convenient for archiving and uploading photos in time. In fact, every function and feature of Wi-Fi has great gains for documentary photography. This is indeed a Quan Huafu SLR camera worthy of documentary photographers' consideration.

Recommended matching lenses: Canon 35mm f/ 1.4L, Canon 35mm f/2 IS, Sigma Art 35mm f/ 1.4.

D6 10 has no shortcomings in humanities shooting due to its balanced configuration in all aspects, but its relatively poor ISO performance and focusing system that only supports +0.5EV lead to its poor adaptability to dark light. However, a slightly stronger focusing system is also a good choice for it to regain a city.

Recommended lens: Nikon 35mm f/ 1.8G(FX), which is cheap and enough. You can also choose Sigma 35mm f/ 1.4. However, Nikon's original 35mm f/ 1.4G is not a good choice because of its inherent defects in focusing speed.

The A7 is on this recommended list mainly because it is unmatched in portability with an FE 35mm f/2.8 lens. This is the best interchangeable lens camera in Quan Huafu. The phase detection point is on the A7 sensor, and the focusing speed is acceptable. However, it is still not as fast as the SLR independent focusing module, and EVF will be delayed, which may have some adverse effects on human body capture. So I only suggest this camera as an alternative.

Sony rx1R. As the only 135 Quan Huafu card camera, it adopts Zeiss Sonnar T* 35mm f/2 lens, which naturally becomes an artifact for humanistic photographers. 35mm humanistic focal length and low-key modeling determine that it can exert all its strength in humanistic shooting. The only drawback of this camera is that the price is not better than A7+FE 35mm f/2.8, which can also meet other shooting needs by changing the lens. But if you are obsessed with humanistic photography and 35mm focal length, do you want one? A machine is in hand. Did I? Small artifact, this Quan Huafu card machine may be the best choice.

abstract

The development of full-frame cameras has shown signs that APS-C format models are in full bloom, and each model has its own unique advantages and inherent disadvantages. I think as a photographer, I should be more clear about my needs and decide whether to start with a full-frame camera according to the advantages and disadvantages listed above. After all, the investment in subsequent lenses and accessories will not be too low. Once you enter the door of a house, you want to change it, and the price you pay is relatively high. Finally, I hope this article can help you choose the Quan Huafu mode that suits you, and you can shoot more excellent works on the road of photography.
