Why do you need a tripod to shoot lotus flowers?

The focal length of lotus photography is generally above 135 mm, so the safety shutter should reach 1/200 or even faster. There are many uncertainties about ensuring a safe shutter:

1. In order to capture the texture of flowers, the maximum aperture is generally not used, but around F5.6-F8 is used, so the shutter is not safe.

Many beautiful lotus flowers are not on the sunny side, but hiding under the lotus leaves. Shooting such lotus flowers will be more vivid, but the light value on the dark side is not enough to maintain a safe shutter.

3. Lotus basically belongs to still life shooting, so it doesn't need much mobility. Of course, a tripod is indispensable for rigorous still life shooting.
