"Minghui's Christmas" ("Selected Novels" Issue 2, 2005), is a good novel that turns decay into magic. The novel delicately describes the story of Minghui's character growth as she is seduced by the appearance of urban life, loses her direction, and finally awakens. The subject matter of the novel is gray: a rural girl who failed the college entrance examination went to the provincial capital to find a job, and was hired by a bathing and massage center. If the novel only writes this kind of gray story, it can attract attention and be sold on a street stall. The first turning point in the novel is when Minghui meets Li Laiqun, who is as wronged as she is. The relationship between Minghui, who goes by the pseudonym Yuanyuan, and Li Laiqun was "unexpectedly relaxed and natural." Yuanyuan finally moved into Li Laiqun's home on Christmas Eve of that year and became a "little housewife".
