What do ael and afl mean?

1. AEL: Automatic Exposure Lock, automatic exposure lock. AEL is exposure lock. Simply put, when the AEL button is pressed, the camera's exposure value will only be fixed at the current metering parameters. Even if the photographer changes the shooting angle or shooting environment, the exposure parameters will not change.

2. AFL: Abbreviation of Auto Focus Lock, that is, automatic focus lock. AFL is focus lock, which means that if you press the AFL button after focusing, the camera will no longer autofocus. The autofocus function will not be restored until the photographer presses the shutter button.

Auto exposure lock mode

1. First, after pressing the shutter button halfway to start metering, press and hold the dedicated AEL button until the shutter button is fully pressed to release the shutter.

2. Second, as long as you press the dedicated AEL button, the metering result will be locked. After shooting, the lock will be automatically unlocked and returned to the normal metering state. For example, the locked metering result needs to be unlocked before the shutter is released. To expose, just press the AEL button again.

3. Third, after half-pressing the shutter button to start metering, continue to hold the shutter button until the shutter button is fully pressed to release the shutter. Obviously, this is the most convenient way to lock AE.
