Speculate others with the deepest goodwill-street photography

There is a saying in Taiwan Province photographer Ruan's collection of photographic essays "In a Foreign Land":

This sentence can't help but remind me of a sentence by Lu Xun: "I always speculate on China people with the worst malice ...". This sentence let us see the indignation accumulated by Mr. Lu Xun in the Liu Hezhen incident.

However, what they said made me wonder why I can't "guess others with the deepest kindness".

I wonder if any historians have done such an analysis. Throughout history, with the development of mankind, is the area of light getting bigger and bigger, or is the area of darkness always expanding? My feeling is that no matter how human civilization develops, darkness and light have always been accompanied, and there is a seesaw existence.

Because of human nature, I think it is neither good nor evil. A person can feel pity for an ant, and at the same time, he may be a murderer. It seems that it is not accurate to evaluate human nature simply by good and evil, and human nature is not unified. There is evil in good, good in evil, and good and evil are consistent. As a person grows older and the environment changes, good and evil will have different manifestations.

So I believe that what Mr. Ruan is worried about probably won't happen, just as I don't believe that my English can be awesome. However, if I have a choice, I prefer to train myself to "guess others with the deepest goodwill." Not only because when I guess others with the deepest goodwill, the world I see will become brighter, but also it will be of great benefit to my body and mind.

In the final analysis, good and evil are only imaginary concepts set by people, and only "yes" can "no". As Laozi said: "The avenue is abandoned, and there is benevolence and righteousness. Wisdom comes out, and there is a big fallacy. Six parents are not harmonious and have filial piety. The country is in chaos and there are loyal ministers. "

There is no distinction between good and evil in this world. We always like to judge right and wrong with our own knowledge, and the result will only be "right and wrong". We should try our best to transcend this concept of binary opposition.
