We are often troubled by market competition and how customers choose outdoor cameras, or the waterproof and dustproof IP grade of protective covers. Of course, the higher the IP level, the better, but how to choose a suitable and effective protective cover is the focus of outdoor camera application and construction. At the same time, most users often misunderstand the comparative relationship between IP and NEMA (corrosion resistance and acid and alkali resistance grade), and think that NEMA protection grade is the same as IP protection grade. In fact, some differences need to be determined by comparing environmental requirements.

2. Demisting, ventilation and heating. Because the camera is used outdoors, the change of temperature difference between day and night and the difference of seasonal humidity will inevitably produce water vapor inside and outside the protective cover of outdoor camera. At this time, if there is no window defogging and heating dehumidification function, the picture that the camera sees after a period of time may appear hazy or round water vapor ring, and even the service life of the camera may be seriously reduced. Therefore, in the application of outdoor cameras, fans, window demisters and temperature heaters are all essential. Unfortunately, in some outdoor camera application cases, these functions are often ignored or not fully equipped, which often leads to high failure rate and difficult maintenance of outdoor cameras.
