The 2009 film "Iron Man" won the 13th Huabiao Award for Outstanding Feature Film. The young oil worker Liu Sicheng ( Liu Ye (played by Liu Ye) is the unit's business pacesetter and a weirdo in everyone's eyes: taciturn, apart from working hard, he collects all Wang Tieren's treasures like a groupie. The only friend Zhao Yilin (played by Huang Bo) is also puzzled by Liu Sicheng's ascetic lifestyle and thinks that he is suffering from desert cabin fever.

With the help of the beautiful psychiatrist Wu Xiameng (played by Ma Su), Liu Sicheng began to try to open up his heart. It turns out that Liu Sicheng's father Liu Wenrui (played by Zhang Duo) was a comrade who fought alongside Wang Tieren.

Being an Iron Man junior not only brings Liu Sicheng supreme honor, but also increasingly troubles him: becoming a fool in the eyes of people around him, worrying about living up to his father’s expectations, and the difference in his father’s outlook on life makes him unaware At a loss.

At the same time, Zhao Yilin and his girlfriend were both forced to leave the team after their inappropriate behavior was exposed. Angry and angry, Zhao Yilin angrily denounced Liu Sicheng, the only insider on the matter, in public, believing that Liu, like his father Liu Wenrui, was a liar who only knew how to gain fame and reputation.

Is my father a hero who fights Iron Man to the end, or does he become a deserter halfway as Zhao Yilin said? Following Liu Sicheng's questioning, time went back half a century...

A dilapidated train pulled Wang Jinxi (played by Wu Gang) and his 1205 drilling team from the Yumen Oil Field in Gansu to Daqing. As the main force in the oil battle, Wang Jinxi and his team shoulder the hope of getting rid of the oil-poor label of New China.

This team, which had almost nothing except flesh and blood and iron will, under the leadership of captain Wang Jinxi, worked hard for 5 days and 5 nights, and the first oil well in Daqing was finally drilled. When the landlady saw Wang Jinxi working hard on the derrick for several days and nights, she sighed, "Captain Wang is really an iron man!" The name "Iron Man Wang" spread from then on.

After the first oil well was drilled, Wang Jinxi’s leg was injured by a falling drill pipe, but he did not bother to be hospitalized. He returned to the well team overnight with a cane and a bandage.

At the critical moment when a blowout was about to occur in the second oil well, there was no barite powder, so he immediately replaced it with cement. There was no mixer and the cement sank to the bottom of the mud pool. Wang Jinxi threw away his crutches, jumped into the mud pool, and stirred the mud with his body.

Led by him, the workers also jumped in one after another. After more than three hours of fighting, the blowout was finally subdued and the oil well and drilling rig were saved.

After three years of natural disasters, Wang Jinxi and his team faced an unprecedented test. Under severe hunger and high-intensity work, the will of his teammates collapsed one after another.

Wang Jinxi saved his own rations, even making political mistakes, and tried every means to fill everyone's stomachs. The seemingly careless Wang Jinxi took great care of his beloved disciple Liu Wenrui, a "little intellectual", and even asked his wife to mend his knee pads.

Liu Wenrui finally secretly boarded the return train, but the bag of rations and the lonely back left by his master Wang Jinxi became Liu Wenrui's lifelong debt.

As he cherished this memory, Liu Sicheng spent his last days with his father.

At this time, news came that Zhao Yilin and his girlfriend, who had left the team, were in danger in the desert. Liu Sicheng did not hesitate to start his search and rescue operation alone.

In a trance, Wang Tieren’s father-like smiling face appeared in front of Liu Sicheng... Sponsored by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the Propaganda Department of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, Beijing Forbidden City Films, Shanghai Film (Group) Company, and Beijing Jinjuhai Culture "Iron Man", which was invested and co-produced, is currently in the post-production process and will meet the audience during the May Day holiday. The filming process of the film was extremely difficult. It was filmed in desert areas in the summer and in the Northeast in the winter. The surface temperature difference between the two places exceeded 100 degrees.

Yin Li, the director of the film, said in an interview with reporters that no Chinese film can experience two completely different climates, high temperature and severe cold, like "Iron Man" during the filming process. Yin Li's previous film "The Ballad of Clouds and Waters" was filmed on a plateau at an altitude of more than 5,000 meters. During the filming of "Iron Man", the difficulty level was much higher than that of "Yun Shui Yao".

Even after being out in the desert for several days, the crew still had lingering fears when mentioning the desert. Because the desert is sparsely populated, full of yellow sand, and there are very few opportunities to see trees, Liu Ye, Huang Bo, and many crew members have varying degrees of desert syndrome. But what was even scarier for the crew was the heat in the desert. In order to prevent the invasion of sand and sun exposure in the desert, the crew wore thick sandproof suits. The disadvantage of sandproof clothing is that it will make you feel hot and breathless after wearing it for a while. In the desert, where temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius are commonplace, some people often find themselves unbearable in the heat just after shooting for a while. A crew member once measured the surface temperature in the desert area and found it exceeded 60 degrees.

After experiencing the baptism of desert fire, the crew came to Daqing and entered the world of ice and snow. In order to recreate the difficult environment of Daqing that year, many scenes were shot in the suburbs without any obstruction. For example, in the scene where Wang Jinxi and his team members jumped into the mud pool, the temperature that day was more than 30 degrees below zero, and the surface temperature was close to 40 degrees below zero. From the lead actors and directors to the crew, everyone has varying degrees of frostbite.

The surface temperature in the desert is more than 60 degrees above zero, and the surface temperature in the northeast is nearly minus 40 degrees. The crew of "Iron Man" set a record for the largest temperature difference during the filming of a Chinese film.

Some crew members said that "Iron Man" was born in this two-dimensional world of ice and fire. Director Yin Li said: "We only filmed for a period of time, and everyone felt very miserable, but there are still people drilling in these places. Although the conditions are better now, many ordinary people still cannot endure such a harsh climate. They That's the real iron man.
