How is RMB printed?

The printing of each RMB from "white paper" to "red paper" has to go through at least four major processes, including offset printing, gravure printing, code printing and sealing, and each workshop has to complete different processes.

1, offset printing:

As the first working procedure, offset printing is a kind of lithography. Although this technology is widely used in other industries, the printing industry requires higher accuracy. The snow-white banknote paper sent to the offset press has been watermarked with ink, with various shades, the dome of the Great Hall of the People and decorative patterns taken from ancient bronzes.

2. Gravure printing:

The smell of ink next to the gravure press is stronger than other areas, and the "product" pattern spit out from its "mouth" is three-dimensional and distinct. In the field of printing money, there was a saying that "there is no money without concave". Up to now, intaglio printing is still an indispensable anti-counterfeiting means in banknotes all over the world.

3. Print code:

There is a row of digital codes on the lower left of the front of each banknote, which is the crown number of RMB. The process of printing the crown number is called printing code. The crown number consists of pinyin letters and Arabic numerals, which are used to mark the printing batch and arrangement order. The crown number of each banknote is as unique as the ID number.

4. Sealing:

The last process of banknotes leaving the factory is sealing. Quality inspection workers should check the quality of each RMB under the lamp, such as whether the number is wrongly printed, whether the color is uniform, and whether the face is flat and clean.
