The behind-the-scenes production of 1408 Phantom Room

Team

Oscar-nominated editor Peter Boyle, costume designer Natalie Wald, production designer Andrew Laws and cinematographer Bino It Delhomi. In the eyes of director Mikael Halstr?m, this is a very creative behind-the-scenes team. And there is also an excellent script to guarantee the film, a short story written by Matt Greenberg, who has created a large number of horror works, and the Golden Globe-winning screenwriting duo Larry Karaszeki and Scott. Once in Alexander's hands, it turned into a compelling movie script.

Creative background

The origin of this film’s adaptation did not originally appear in the form of a short story. At first, Stephen King just recorded the story called "The Phantom Room of 1408" in a very brief way in one of his prose books, setting an example of how to draft a story. However, the story later intrigued Stephen King, who not only completed the draft but also adapted it into an audio story.

Stephen King was inspired to write this story from an anthology of real news stories. One of them was a research record by paranormal psychologist Christopher Chaiken about California. A haunted room at San Diego's Coronado Hotel.
