How to improve photography skills
How to Improve Photography Skills (1) You can train your "photographic eyes" with or without a camera.
The "photographic eye" is very important for photography. It allows you to find extraordinary places in an ordinary environment, and shoot the story with a lens to form an excellent work! I often remind my classmates that even if you don't have a camera in your hand, you can pay attention to and find the ideal subject. Beginners can pay more attention to:
The distribution of light and shadow, remember which angle is more interesting and distinctive when there is light and shadow? Up, down, head-up, sideways, etc ... How to highlight the protagonist through composition? Trigonometry, guide line, frame composition, shallow depth of field ... What color should it be? Which white balance should I adjust? How to shoot the same protagonist with different focal lengths and have their own characteristics? Long focal length, medium focal length, wide angle …
As long as you can see the above elements at any time day after day, your photographic eye will definitely be greatly improved!
Be familiar with your equipment and make good use of their features.
Some students will have entry-level cameras, and sometimes they will use professional lenses, but sometimes the equipment is not the most important thing to take good photos. On the contrary, you must clearly understand the characteristics and limitations of the equipment in your hand. For example, if you use an entry-level SLR camera with high ISO noise, you can avoid taking high ISO shots, or take more black-and-white photos to make noise unimportant. Or your lens is not glare-proof, you can avoid big backlight shooting, or it may be better to shoot directly in silhouette!
Also, the current camera has many functions, such as active D-Lighting, DRO, light and shade optimization, shockproof function, long exposure to remove noise and so on. You also need to know when to turn it on and when to turn it off to make shooting more convenient.
The focal length of the camera lens will also affect the feeling and visual effect to be expressed. The (super) wide angle can take magnificent photos, the medium focus is suitable for realistic shooting, and the telephoto can compress the foreground and background. In short, you should learn what lens you have to shoot excellent works, and don't be limited by the lens.
(3) practice by yourself.
Do you usually practice shooting with your friends? Unless your friends also like photography, please practice by yourself (but pay attention to safety), so that you can try and improve yourself slowly and find different angles and compositions without being afraid of keeping your friends waiting, so that you can really devote yourself to the world of learning photography!
(4) Not afraid of dirt
Generally speaking, the more angles and scenes that ordinary people can't see, the more attractive the photos are, so please see if you can find some special, interesting or different angles before shooting, even if you are lying on the ground. Don't be afraid of being dirty!
(5) concentrate on a topic, and then slowly increase the subject matter.
Many beginners often shoot different subjects (scenery, portraits, macro, etc.). At the same time, but in fact, each topic will have its own skills. If you can spend most of your time learning one of these skills, you will certainly take more beautiful photos! Of course, I am confident that after filming this theme, I can slowly explore other interests.
