Hardware facilities of the University of Western Ontario

The University of Western Ontario is located near the northern branch of the Thames River in Ontario, covering an area of 1.6 square kilometers. There are 75 buildings in the main campus. The university also owns land off campus. There are professional teaching facilities such as Indian Archaeological Museum, Observatory and ground wind tunnel. The school can provide 3000 houses. The university library system * * * has seven main service areas, and * * * contains more than 77 million items, including books, images and documents in electronic format. These resources constitute one of the largest research library systems in Canada. The university's sports facilities include TD Waterhouse Stadium, which can accommodate 8,000 spectators, Thompson Entertainment and Sports Center with skating rink, indoor runway, curling court and tennis court, and alumni hall with indoor basketball and volleyball courts. The university campus also has art performance facilities, retail stores, food stores and McIntosh Art Museum, which is the oldest university art museum in Canada.
