Film Review "The Body of Love"

Since the restrictions on shooting themes were lifted in Korean films, a lot of erotic films have emerged at one time, most of which are shoddy and naked to gain profits. Physical love can be considered as one of the most artistic pursuits of pornographic movies. The story of the film is very simple, even the surnames of the male and female protagonists are not given. Simple scenes and narratives, like its lens language, are compressed to the extreme by the director. The most prominent feature of the whole movie is the simple scenery and beautiful and smooth photography style. Almost the whole scene is dominated by white, which highlights the aesthetic and pure style pursued by the film. It can be said that every independent shooting is picturesque. The apartment is white and elegant, beautifully decorated, and surrounded by Adam and Eve with melancholy temperament. Inside, they move like dancing, driving pure cotton white clothes and setting off sexy, smooth and tender pink skin for men and women.

This is just a simple love story, but it is full of three kinds of love intertwined: men's infatuation with women, women's sadism with men, and women's infatuation with ex-lovers. This relationship is enough to lead to a dead end. The man finally stabbed a woman's lover quietly in the crosswalk and strangled the woman during sex. Motivation is like Japan's "sensory kingdom", destroying things that can't be preserved forever and making them eternal.

Making an artistic sex movie is the pursuit of director Lu, and The Body of Love should be said to be his masterpiece. Sealed suite, two roles, in line with the standard pornographic configuration. The plot is not complicated, and the dramatic development climax is only a faint one, occasionally interspersed with some men's fantasy shots, but the quality of the film has changed a little, and the plot is slightly stiff. The four scenes of sex are so beautiful that they can be seen separately. Perhaps in the director's mind, this is an elegant erotic films. Therefore, the sex scene is deliberately restrained, and high-light photography, flowing composition and sculptural figures are used to create a sexy environment. The former director, who studied philosophy at Seoul National University and claimed to have seen thousands of pornographic films, finally realized what he had always wanted to do for several years: to make a "literary erotic film".

1998, Lu made a comedy "Erotic Man" to discuss Korean men's infatuation with pornography and white women, but the structure was loose and the plot was too casual. In this comeback film, you can still vaguely see the previous weaknesses. Although the film is beautifully shot, the plot is slightly thin and empty.
