Shooting process

China on the Tip of the Tongue is the first large-scale food documentary filmed with high-definition equipment in China.

It is positioned as a "high-end food documentary", with only 7 episodes in the first season. It started shooting on a large scale in March of 201year and lasted for 13 months. These photos were collected from 70 different places in China. The film crew traveled to 70 shooting locations in China, including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and used 3 pre-researches, 8 directors, 15 photographers and 3 clips.

Every episode of China on the Tip of the Tongue was shot by a diversified director, who tried to find the characters' stories according to the established diversified themes. When each diversity theme is established, the diversity director needs to go through three stages before shooting: the first stage is the "copywriting" stage, that is, the diversity director reads a lot of books, investigates and writes copywriting about the theme; The second stage is the "investigation" stage to determine which foods need to be photographed; Finally, according to a single food, go to various places to shoot, and find suitable people in the shooting area to express this food and carry the stories of people in this area.
