Chinese Academy of Sciences Public Science Day is a large-scale science popularization activity organized by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. This activity will be open to the public starting in May 2004, and its affiliated institutes have become a brand activity of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Science Day is also an important channel for the public to understand and explore science and technology.

The 15th Public Science Day of the Chinese Academy of Sciences will be held in 120 affiliated institutions across the country. By then, a large number of national key laboratories, botanical gardens, observation stations, museums, field stations and scientific instruments of the Chinese Academy of Sciences will be open to the public.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. At this important historical moment, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has mobilized the entire academy to hold Public Science Day, which is of special significance. It allows the public to enter the solemn and mysterious palace of science, experience China's ever-changing achievements in scientific and technological innovation, and feel the strong scientific and cultural atmosphere, thereby further enhancing their sense of pride and self-confidence, and supporting and participating in China's scientific and technological innovation.

During this Science Popularization Day, each branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences will also give full play to its regional coordination role and carry out a series of themed science popularization activities.

For example, the Beijing Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences will launch the second "Science Communication Month", combining the characteristics of various scientific research institutes in Beijing, and holding special science popularization activities every weekend, such as science popularization volunteer tours, science popularization photography competitions, etc.

Research institutions under the Chinese Academy of Sciences will open scientific research infrastructure such as national key laboratories, scientific instruments and field stations to allow the public to get closer to science. Each institute will also launch a large number of unique, interesting and fun activities to allow the public, especially young students, parents and families, the opportunity to experience the process and fun of scientific research experiments.

For example, the Space Application Engineering Technology Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences will open the manned space application mission site to allow the public to experience the immersive microgravity fluid (liquid bridge) experimental platform;

Vertebrate Paleontology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Together with the Institute of Ancient Anthropology, we will create a situational science drama that combines science and art to educate and entertain.

This year’s Public Science Day will also host a series of special science popularization activities.

The "Self" Forum will give scientific lectures with the theme of "At this moment, the world is opened" to share scientific stories and scientists' extraordinary insights with the public; Science Communication Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Association of Science and Technology The "Beijing-Tianjin College Student Encyclopedia Knowledge Competition" will be held;

On the evening of May 24, the "Science Night" will be a science gathering, inviting families to experience the charm of life sciences, astronomy and geography.
