Why are there no e-seats on the high-speed rail?

The reason why high-speed rail seats do not have e-seats is because the tradition of aircraft numbering is followed.

Early aircraft were mostly single-aisle, with 6 seats in each row. Later, it gradually became an international practice that AF is the window seat and CD is the aisle seat. The high-speed rail continues this tradition of numbering, but the high-speed rail has a maximum of 5 seats in a row, and specific letters that do not affect the window or corridor are removed, so there are no E seats.

The current high-speed rail seats are generally arranged in a 3+2 pattern, namely A-B-C, D-F, seats A and F are by the window, and seats C and D are by the aisle. In the first-class seat arrangement of 2+2, there is no E-seat in the second-class seat, and there is no B-seat. Therefore, the first-class seat arrangement is A-C, D-F. The VIP seats are the same. They are arranged in a 2+1 arrangement, arranged A-C, F. The seats with letters A and F are by the window, and the letters C are by the middle aisle.

High-speed rail seat arrangement

On high-speed rail trains, the seat types are divided into first-class seats, first-class seats, second-class seats and business seats. The specific seat types and prices will vary depending on the train and route. First-class and business seats are more comfortable than first- and second-class seats, but the price is also higher. When choosing a seat, in addition to seat type, seat location is also a factor to consider.

Generally speaking, the seats at the front and rear of the car will be noisier, and the seats near the restroom or dining car may also be noisier. Therefore, it may be easier to get comfortable by choosing a window or aisle seat. There are also some seating taboos that need to be avoided when choosing seats. For example, avoid choosing a seat near the door, because standing people will affect the rest of the passengers. Also, eating on high-speed trains is prohibited, so don’t choose a seat near the dining car.
