Pupils learn mobile phone photography

Last summer, I accompanied a group of primary school students on a trip to the south of the Yangtze River, starting from Shanghai and walking in cities along the Yangtze River until Xi 'an, Chengdu and Chongqing, and then returning to Beijing. Children mainly study local history, culture and geographical environment, and learn some knowledge that is not available in books. They will not only study thousands of books, but also visit Wan Li Road. My task is to take pictures of the children, record the scenery along the way with photos and take pictures of the children. At that time, I brought a Canon 6D Quan Huafu SLR camera and a 24- 105 lens, as well as a Xiaomi 10U mobile phone (Xiaomi 10 Extreme Commemorative Edition).

The first stop is Shanghai. In the evening, the children went to the Bund. I took pictures of the children with Canon 6D+24- 105 and Xiaomi 10U respectively. After going back to the hotel, I found that the 40-megapixel mobile phone beat the 20-megapixel Quan Huafu SLR, mainly because the details were much clearer and the colors were much brighter, at least without post-processing, which was particularly relaxed.

Above: In the photo taken at the top of Lingshan Mountain, Xiaomi mobile phone and Canon 6D are in the same position. I found that the high-pixel mobile phone completely defeated the Quan Huafu SLR. Fortunately, I carried such a heavy SLR camera and climbed the highest mountain in Beijing at an altitude of 2330 meters. I'm exhausted, so why bother?

Because I have to walk around with my children every day, at least tens of thousands of steps, I don't want to carry such a heavy SLR and lens. I'm so tired. Later, I mainly shot Xiaomi 10U mobile phone.

Here are some photos taken by mobile phones, and the effect is still very good, with good clarity and color.

Some people say that Xiaomi 10U mobile phone has 120 zoom, can it replace SLR or micro-camera? The answer is no, of course. The 40 million pixels and outsole of the mobile phone are in the wide-angle section, and after zooming, it is several million pixels, which is generally only 5 times of optical zoom, and the focal length is not more than100 mm. Therefore, shooting in the telephoto section still needs a SLR camera or a micro-camera plus a telephoto lens, which can also bring better background blur.

For example, the background blur effect of portrait photography above, skin texture is not photographed by mobile phone anyway.

So I personally think that the best solution for photographers is to use mobile phones for the wide-angle part and SLR and telephoto lenses for the telephoto part. The advantage of this is that the camera bag is lighter and you don't need to change the lens often. The SLR directly hangs up 70-200 or 100-400. Except for telephoto shooting, everything else is taken by mobile phone. The photos taken by mobile phones can be enlarged and clear on the computer screen, which fully meets the requirements of small-size printing and magazine publishing. At present, 24- 105 has been sold, and only 50F 1.8 spittoon and Sigma 100-400 lens are kept. I wonder if I will regret it in the future? Will it be considered unprofessional to finish shooting with a mobile phone? Unless I upgrade the shooting host to 50 million pixels, it will be a big expense. The point is, I don't want to recite one more shot. If you need to change the lens when shooting, you still need to spend money to upgrade the SLR host. Is it enough? I don't usually shoot birds, so I don't need such a good fast focus and high pixel video. Isn't it a waste to buy such an expensive host function?
