Love of maple leaves! Siming Mountain welcomes the most beautiful red maple season.

Every year from mid-April to early May, the red maple on Siming Mountain will enter the best viewing season on time. At this time, all the slopes and hills in Siming Mountain were dyed red by red maple, and the red maple became another kind of "Ying Shan Hong". This is another visual blockbuster after the cherry blossom season in Siming Mountain.

Because there are so many red maple plants that other plants can't surpass them, and the color of red maple is the most eye-catching, once you enter Siming Mountain area, you will be deeply attracted by red maple.

Recently, when I was wandering around Siming Mountain in Ningbo, the tender leaves of Hongfeng Mountain came face to face with its huge gas field, which made people unable to stop by and keep pressing the shutter.

I thought red maple, an ordinary cultivated plant, didn't interest me. But man is an animal that feels color. Once bright colors have a strong visual impact, people's eyes can't resist. I am a very ordinary mortal, and I am not immune.

The best viewing period of red maple is when the tender leaves are fully unfolded every spring, when the palmately divided leaves are the most perfect. The leaves are translucent and give off very attractive light in the bright sunshine. The red leaves of the tree are like a red flower. I found that when shooting against the sun, it can better reflect the true beauty of red maple leaves, while leaves with dewdrops have another beauty in rainy days.

Red maple will turn red in autumn, and sometimes it is beautiful, but it is slightly inferior to the young leaves of red leaves in spring. When the leaves of Hongfeng are fully grown, they will gradually turn green-brown in midsummer and turn red before the leaves fall. In autumn, the leaves of red maple are often damaged and curled, and look a little flawed and imperfect. It looks good from a distance, but it's a little uncomfortable from a close distance.

Hongfeng is a cultivated species of Acer in Aceraceae. Theoretically speaking, Acer truncatum and Acer truncatum are the same species, and they are varieties formed by long-term artificial cultivation. However, I have done an experiment, sowing the fruits of red maple and raising seedlings with red leaves, which shows that the propagation of red maple does not have to use traditional grafting methods.

The leaves of Castanea henryi (4-6cm in diameter) that we usually see are smaller than those of red maple leaves (7- 10cm in diameter), belonging to a variety of Castanea henryi, called Castanea henryi. The number of Acer truncatum planted is obviously much less than that of Acer truncatum.

Acer truncatum also has two significant viewing periods. In spring, the tender leaves of Acer truncatum are yellow-green or goose-yellow, especially in Huang Liang. It is common for leaves to turn dark green in summer, and autumn is its brightest highlight moment. Acer truncatum in autumn will show bright orange-red or orange-yellow before falling leaves, which is more eye-catching than the color of red maple.

Another cultivated species of Castanea henryi is feather maple, whose leaves are palmately divided, and most of the lobes are pinnately divided, and the edges of each lobe are sparse, slender and serrated. Those with red leaves are called "red feather maple".
