Dali belongs to the South China Sea.

Dali town is located in the east of Nanhai District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province, bordering Liwan District and Baiyun District of Guangzhou City in the east and Chancheng District of Foshan City in the south, which is an important link connecting Guangzhou and Foshan central cities. The town covers an area of 95.9 square kilometers (20 17) and has a population of 789,568 (2020).

Dali Town has successively won the honors of China No.1 Aluminum Industry Town, China Nonferrous Metals Town, China Underwear Town, China Fashion Brand Underwear Capital, China Southern Underwear Production Base, China Southern Fashion City, China Commercial Town, China Professional Market E-commerce Procurement Demonstration Zone, National Health Town and China Dragon and Lion Sports Town.

Dali Town was called "Qingfeng City" in the early days. During the reign of Tang Daizong, there appeared "Ten Talented Scholars in Dali Period". There are also a number of local talents, so the names of "Top Ten Talents in Dali" are used to refer to local talents in large numbers, and "Dali" is gradually used to refer to "Qingfeng City". "Dali" was changed to "Dali" in the annals of the Qing Dynasty, and "Li" in the county magazines in the early years of the Republic of China was also changed to "Li".
