HGRobotics launches Vetal UAV: The unique tail design supports vertical takeoff and landing.

Although the fixed-wing UAV has faster flight speed and longer cruising range, it usually needs a longer runway to take off and land. However, the unique "tail" design of Vetal UAV solves this embarrassment well. We have seen many UAVs supporting vertical take-off and landing before, but most of them are realized by several horizontal propellers.

Even if the propeller angle can be adjusted to realize the forward flight design after vertical takeoff, its mechanical structure will become quite complicated. And when not in use, the related parts will increase the resistance and weight.

As the name implies, Vetal's tail-mounted VTOL UAV can keep its tail up during takeoff and landing. When switching to forward flight mode, just lean forward in mid-air to change the direction of power.

Vetal with twin propellers manufactured by HGRobotics in Thailand is specially designed for tasks such as agricultural investigation and routine monitoring. It has a wingspan of1300mm (4.3ft) and a foam core/carbon fiber shell fuselage.

The weight of the whole machine is only 3.8kg (8.4lb), and the two motors are powered by 12Ah lithium polymer battery which supports quick replacement, and the battery life can reach 60 minutes at a time.

During the forward flight, the maximum flying speed of Vetal can reach 90 km/h (56 mph) and the cruising speed is 54 km/h (34 mph).

It can carry a payload as high as 800g (1.8lb), and can carry various types of sensors/cameras, and adopts an installation/disassembly mechanism that supports quick release.

With the help of 4G/5G module, Vetal can keep in touch with operators within 7 kilometers (4 miles), support real-time remote control, or plan a predetermined flight path through programming (combined with GPS/GNSS global positioning navigation scheme).
