Skills of sports photography.
Photographers need to observe carefully, predict where the next action will take place and the behavior pattern, and then be ready to capture. This is particularly prominent in sports photography. Athletes' next direction and movements are easy to predict. With sideline as the boundary and a set of corresponding code of conduct, it is easier for photographers to achieve their goals. For example, on the football field, the direction of football, the goal, the sideline and the players will not exceed our prediction. If timing is the key, how can we successfully capture it? The answer is simple-practice, practice, practice again!
preplanning
If possible, you need to step on the spot in advance, find the best viewing point and shooting angle, and roughly predict how long it will take to drive to your destination. The best shooting locations are few and often come first served.
As a general rule, if you want to completely fit the subject within the range of 10 meter into a 35mm frame, you need a lens with a length of 100mm to achieve this goal. In practice, this means that if you shoot a football match, the photographer's position is 30-40 meters away from the goal penalty area. At this time, only 300-400 mm lens can get the image of Quan Huafu. For example, in cricket, photographers usually use a 600mm lens with a "multiplier" to obtain an effective lens length of 1200 mm. The closer you are to the subject, the easier it is to complete the Quan Huafu shooting of the target.
In addition, there are always some distracting external things that will interfere with the photographer's attention, so we should learn to make full use of the background to serve the subject. It is naturally best to weaken the people behind you by changing the depth of field of the shooting site, but sometimes a clear background will add a lot of color to the shooting theme.
Find the shooting point
First of all, you should know the sports you shoot. Make sure you have a full and good understanding of the sport you are filming, such as golf. The moment when the batter touches the ball with his swing is the best dynamic shooting point. In this way, we can be targeted, choose our favorite sports action or theme for tracking and shooting, and try to choose the most representative moment of sports, because this is the most intuitive and representative part of sports.
Select the moment
When analyzing the action, we should not only consider how to capture the best moment of the action, but also consider whether the camera is competent for the job. For example, in diving, the moment when an athlete enters the water is really the most beautiful, but it is easier to capture when the athlete leaves the platform and the rising speed is zero. Moreover, the shooting locations like this are fixed, and it is forbidden to use flash. Why not choose an easier one? A senior sports photographer once said, "If you see the motion in the viewfinder, then you have lost it." Therefore, it is most important to press the shutter decisively on the basis of your rich experience.
Shooting skill
Use a faster shutter speed: There are many photography techniques that can be applied to sports photography, locking the subject and blurring other relatively static areas, so that dynamic lines will be displayed on still photos. This is the most common technology in sports shooting, and it is also easy to realize. High shutter speed and fast light source are the key. There is a close relationship among aperture, shutter speed, ISO value and light source. Simply put, you need a fast lens, high ISO setting and good light source.
Use slow shutter: Photographers also like to use slow shutter to capture moving objects. Fuzzy results convey a very dynamic effect, and sometimes stretching and twisting effects shine brilliantly. However, it should be noted that the slowness here is only relatively slow, otherwise the photos will definitely be "pasted".
Auto focus: Most cameras have single and continuous auto focus modes. The disadvantages of single focus in sports photography are self-evident. If you want to adjust, you must raise your finger again and press it again. If you miss the opportunity, it will easily lead to camera shake and out of focus. Continuous focus mode has the function of "preemptive focus" to some extent, which can follow the photographer to predict the next move and help to keep the shooting theme completely clear.
Continuous shooting Technology: The maturity of continuous shooting technology also reduces the difficulty of sports photography. The better the camera, the more powerful this function is. On the premise of pre-setting, it is more likely to grasp the moment, and there is always one for you.
Shooting equipment
Camera:
Check whether your camera has a high ISO value, which helps to capture moving photos. Photographers usually choose a fast autofocus camera, but in some special cases, professional photographers like to turn off autofocus and use manual mode.
Lens:
Generally speaking, the fastest (widest and largest aperture) and longest lens is most suitable for sports photography, which can ensure the distance from the shooting target as close as possible, and freeze the moment with a high-speed shutter. When the quick ISO setting is started, most zoom lenses of 80-200mm and F5.6 can be used for outdoor sports shooting.
Tripod:
It is recommended to use a tripod to fix the horizontal position of the camera. Thick lenses are usually difficult to keep stable, and the camera vibration can not be underestimated when using telephoto lenses.
Power and storage:
Make sure the camera battery is fully charged before going out, and prepare at least one spare one. Auto-focus camera is a famous power-consuming equipment. When shooting sports materials for a long time, two batteries are sometimes not enough; The memory card should be as large as possible, but pay attention to the recognizable upper limit of camera storage. After all, a good fast memory card is very important under high-speed continuous shutter.
Waterproof items:
This is not to say that photographers need to prepare a set of professional outfits for shooting in rainy days to cope with the harsh environmental changes. Several waterproof plastic bags may be of great help at critical moments to protect your beloved equipment from rain erosion.
