But in the digital age, things have changed. The photosensitive characteristics of CCD and CMOS are different from those of film.

The low-pass filter (in front of CCD/CMOS) in the body of digital camera can filter out the interference of infrared rays and ultraviolet rays on the picture, so there is no need to filter out ultraviolet rays with a UV mirror.

But at this point, most photographers still continue their "inertial thinking", so now most people throw colorless and transparent filters in front of the mirror as UV mirrors.

Protective mirror is different from UV mirror, because it has higher light transmittance, so it has less influence on image quality and is cheaper.
