What are the taboos of photography?

I. No theme

Beginners of photography often want to take pictures of all the beautiful scenery they see, for fear of missing any detail. But every time I see my photos, I always feel that the scenery in the photos is far from beautiful or even chaotic, which is precisely because we put too many scenes in the picture when shooting. A photo with too much content often makes people feel puzzled. It has everything, but it seems that nothing is expressed. When shooting, we must first ask ourselves: Why do you want to take this photo? I want the audience to see this photo? In this way, when shooting, we will eliminate some unnecessary elements, such as messy background, irrelevant people and so on. Let the audience understand what we want to express at a glance and be attracted by it.

There are many elements in this painting. The people nearby, the image in the mirror of the model car, the yellow car on the right and the pedestrians crossing the road in the distance are all prominent visual points. With more elements, it is easy to have differences in theme and thought.

The picture is too full to breathe.

When we are beginners in shooting, we sometimes think that the bigger the proportion of the theme in the picture, the better, so we often pull the scene very close until the picture can't fit. Seeing the photos taken, we found that the scenery in these photos was just like sticking to our faces, which made us feel depressed and breathless. Sometimes, we will see a lonely object in a photo, but we have no idea about its environment. The reason for this phenomenon is that the theme occupies too much space, the picture is full, and the necessary background for explaining the environment is completely blocked.

When shooting, we usually arrange the subject on the golden section and the three-point line of the picture, leaving appropriate space for the background and letting the subject naturally exist in the environment.

Flowers occupy a large area in the picture, the space is too crowded and the picture feels uncomfortable.

?

This picture has a good sense of space, with more white space, which just sets off the texture of smoke and highlights the theme.

3. The building leans

Building tilt is a taboo in photography. Unless the photographer deliberately pursues some effect or expresses some special emotion. Building tilt often gives people a feeling of extreme instability. Let the audience feel that shooting is arbitrary and unrealistic. Generally speaking, one of the basic elements of shooting a building is to ensure that the building is in a horizontal position.

The tilted church in this picture is not only disturbing, but also disrespectful.

?

Because the lens has no parallel horizontal line, the distortion of the lens leads to the inclination of the building.

4. hit your head against the south wall

When shooting profile portraits or shooting objects with a tendency to rush forward, generally speaking, we should try to leave more space where the characters face or move, so that people's visual physiology can be released. However, many junior cinematographers often ignore this problem. Sometimes the subject will fill up the picture, and the scene will come to an abrupt end in the part facing the characters, causing the picture to be dull and breathless.

The problem with this picture is that I didn't pay attention to the impurities in the background when I composed the picture. It is common for a character to have two pillars on his head. What's that on your head? In fact, this phenomenon can be easily avoided as long as we are aware of it. In this picture, in the position where the characters are facing, the frame stops abruptly, which is very uncomfortable visually, and there is a feeling of hitting the south wall with your head.

Verb (abbreviation of verb) image segmentation

When shooting, the position of the horizon is not arranged well, so that it is located in the center of the picture, which may cause the subject and background to be evenly distributed on both sides of the picture, or cause the subject and ligand to be evenly distributed on both sides of the picture, which will make the picture feel split in two. Because the picture is divided into two parts, it will lead to the balance of power between the upper and lower parts of the picture, which will make the theme unclear and lack a sense of unity and harmony.

The horizontal line is in the middle, which makes the picture split in two and looks dull and lifeless. The balance between the power of grass and the power of heaven makes people doubt the theme.

6. usurp the role of the master

Showing too much foil in the picture, or bringing the foil with too eye-catching color and shape into the picture will lead to the viewer's attention being attracted by too much foil, which will make the subject in a secondary position. This composition of putting the cart before the horse will not be able to express the photographer's ideas, and even lead the viewer to misunderstand the meaning of the work.

Is this painting a representation of architecture or a representation of trees? Some are ambiguous. If they represent buildings, the trees in front are a bit abrupt. If it is a performance tree, the buildings behind it will steal the limelight, so from the performance theme, this picture is prone to differences.

Seven. Image imbalance

The overall tone and tone structure are not paid attention to when composing, which leads to the disharmony between the color and atmosphere of the picture and affects the photo effect; Or when composing a composition, we don't pay attention to the echo relationship of the picture, which leads the viewer to feel depressed and nervous, all of which are called picture imbalance.

Power and area are relatively heavy, so there is a sense of imbalance compared with the right. Too light power will make the picture appear unbalanced.

Compared with the above picture, each line in the picture has a vein, which is very comfortable.

Eight. Be blocked from going out

When composing, is the main line in the picture incomplete, cut off in the middle, or in the picture? Channel? Being cut off, such a composition can easily lead to the psychological effect of being closed and depressed, which makes the viewer feel nervous and depressed. In addition, such a composition is often blocked and cut off visually, which causes the viewer to think. Cut off? , so that viewers can not better understand the artistic conception and meaning of the picture.

The road in the upper right corner of this picture looks blocked because there is no exit.

Nine. to gild the lily

In composition, when vertical lines appear, such as shooting a tree, you should shoot the roots; If you can't photograph the roots, you must explain their foothold. Because when you shoot trees, houses and roads, cut the bottom of the tree from the middle, and the tree will float, and the picture looks strange and uncomfortable. In Figure 2, the picture is relatively stable because the root of the tree is left, but in Figure 1, without the root, the tree becomes redundant and seems to be floating. Effect or express a special emotion. Building tilt often gives people a feeling of extreme instability. Let the audience feel that shooting is arbitrary and unrealistic. Generally speaking, one of the basic elements of shooting a building is to ensure that the building is in a horizontal position.
