How to take time-lapse photography, under the guidance of the great god.

Equipment: timing cable releaser, tripod, filter (as appropriate). The camera lens comes with it, and the memory card is better than 8G, and 4G is also acceptable.

Software: Photoshop, audio and video X4(Corel VideoStudio Pro X4). You can download it from VeryCD. It is better to use X4 version, which has the function of importing delayed image sequences.

2. Shooting method:

(1) fuselage settings:

*M gear, ISO manual.

Note: except for special circumstances, such as subway single scene (which does not affect the metering system), the light changes greatly, so I use automatic ISO 200-ISO 1600.

* White balance is manual, which can be preset or adjusted manually.

*JPG straight out, color, 1000W pixel model, choose the highest quality, medium screen size.

* Turn off the high-sensitivity noise reduction of the fuselage and turn off the automatic dark compensation of the fuselage (Nikon's D-lighting, Canon's highlight priority mode, Sony and Pentax's automatic HDR).

Note: In the evening and at sunrise, the light changes greatly. According to experience, within 30 minutes in winter, the maximum change of light can reach 2~3EV, so please adjust the exposure appropriately.

(2) Cable release settings:

Just set the INTVL option (Yongnuo MC-36b), that is, the interval between each shooting.

1) When shooting the traffic and pedestrians in the city during the day, the interval time is set to 1 sec, and the shutter speed of the fuselage is set within 1 sec.

2) When shooting urban night traffic, the interval is set to 2 seconds to 5 seconds, and the shutter speed of the fuselage is set to interval minus 1. (Example: the interval is 3 seconds, and the shutter speed of the fuselage is 2 seconds)

3) When shooting the movement of clouds in the sky, set the interval time to 3 seconds to 10 second according to the movement speed of clouds. The slower the cloud moves, the longer the interval.

(3) Shooting process:

The tripod fixes the camera and the view: predict the position (since the aspect ratio of the later video clip is 16: 9, it must be noted that the upper and lower parts of the picture need to be cropped).

note:

* Don't raise the central axis of the tripod to ensure stability;

* Use a medium telephoto lens (above 50mm) to ensure the stability of the tripod;

* When shooting, add an eyepiece cover to prevent the incident light from affecting the photo exposure (if not, you can cover the viewfinder with dark clothes or cloth and fix it).

(4) Determine the shooting time.

Shooting duration (minutes) = interval shooting time (seconds) ×24× final required editing duration (seconds) ÷ 60;

Number of shots =24× the length of the final required clip (seconds);

Example: Finally, I want a 20-second delayed video clip with an interval of 3 seconds, so the shooting time is:

3×24×20÷60=24 (minutes), and the number of shots is 20× 24 = 480;

Note: generally shoot as much as possible. If you need a clip of 10 second, it is best that the original clip is from 15 second to 20 second, leaving room for the later transition of the video.

3. Post-processing

Import photos from the memory card into the computer, and there is a folder for photos of each scene.

(1)PS batch processing

Use this step to adjust the tone of the final video, which is suitable for both color and black and white. Because of the large adjustment space and many details, PS is used instead of ordinary video editing software.

Recording actions, necessary steps in recording:

* Sharpen: Use the USM that comes with PS to sharpen it. As the case may be, don't exaggerate;

* cropping: the cropping pixel is 2048×1152;

Set the ratio to 16:9. Why is this value? Because the maximum width of video clips that audio and video can save is 2048 pixels.

Some plug-ins support action batch processing, such as color efex and silver efex of nik software, but pay attention to the use of layers, and users who use plug-ins for slow batch processing and low configuration should be cautious.

After recording the action, open PS menu-File-Automatic-Batch Processing, select the action, target folder and output folder, and start batch processing.

(2) Post video

Classify and manage the folders of processed pictures.

Composing UIS image sequence for editing:

Turn on audio and video X4.

Open file-Insert media file into timeline-Insert photos with delay/flash applied, select folder, select all or more, and confirm.
