Production background

The production of The Adventures of Crow can be traced back to before director Miyazaki Hayao prepared to create an art gallery. That's 1997. The Ghost Princess has just finished. With the popularization of computer animation technology, Ghibli also decided to adopt non-film creative methods in the future. But at that time, director Miyazaki Hayao put forward the idea of creating stories with movies. Instead of making animation, we left a story with a still picture on the film. The stage background is still the little golden well that often appears in Ghibli's works. At that time, director Miyazaki Hayao was very interested in the history of Xiaojinjing. So in the end, I wrote a story about the dog Crowe wandering around Xiaojinjing City after he got lost. Masashi Ando, a painting director in Princess Ghost and Spirited Away, took a shot in different shots, and then painted each scene as a movie. The following year, director Miyazaki Hayao, who decided to formally set up the art museum, began to prepare an animated short film to be shown in the art museum, and proposed to animate the story. Thus, The Adventures of Crowe was born. Now, some original films are on display in the gallery on the second floor of the art museum. Interested viewers can watch the animation by comparing the movie pictures, which will be very interesting.

Crowe's voice

The staff of Ghibli Photography Department recorded it with a group of puppies around the old city.
