I. Administrative divisions
As of 20 16, Tokyo consists of 23 special administrative regions, 26 cities, 5 towns and 8 villages. The total GDP ranks first in the world, and the total population accounts for more than one-third of Japan's national population. It is the largest urban agglomeration in the world.
