You should be talking about wet photography. Wet plate photography is a photography technique with glass as the negative. This is an ancient photography technique in18th century. Clean glass is coated with solvent based on collodion, then dipped into silver nitrate, taken out when wet, developed and fixed, and the negative is made into positive or negative film according to preference. Also known as collodion photography.
