Why can't you take good photos?

If you want to take better photos, it is nothing more than that you don't practice enough, you don't know enough about cameras, and you can't look straight into your heart. Of course, if you can do the following, you will not be far from taking good-looking photos. Let's have a look!

You should know your camera.

Ask yourself, do you really know your camera? Did you really have a soul-deep conversation with your camera alone (psycho)? If you can't master every function of the camera and understand every feature of the camera, how can you make the camera play the highest level?

I believe that every design of a camera designer has a reason, even if it is only to save costs, you should also know how to use the functions made to save costs at your own expense.

Some photographers can shoot master works with their mobile phones, while others can only take photos of passers-by with hundreds of thousands of equipment. The reason why you can't take good photos is not that you have a good camera, but that you don't know your camera at all.

Master some simple rules.

Although photography can't rely solely on learning to improve its level, it needs to contact and improve its own aesthetic cultivation, but some basic photography rules still need to be understood.

Like the reciprocal rate, I really know a lot of people. I haven't made a film since the beginning of digital, but it took a while to automatically file. They gave everything to the camera and forgot that they were the master who controlled the camera. Knowing the reciprocal rate, you can control the manual exposure more easily, know when to open the aperture and when to speed up the shutter, so that you can get your ideal exposure more easily.

This ingredient is difficult to explain. Some people say that the composition is regular, while others say that the composition is irregular. As long as you take a comfortable photo and add two lines casually, it can be regarded as composition. But what kind of photos can make people feel comfortable? Some basic composition rules are still meaningful, such as the dichotomy, the use of guiding lines, and the meaning of elements in composition. Knowing this will at least not make your photos messy, but also make others feel comfortable.

Learn from other people's photos

When we see a beautiful photo, we should first think about why this photo can attract us, because of its composition. Is it because of its color? Is it because of the emotions it sends out? Or is it because the girl who took the photo looks good (wrong)?

We should learn to read classic photos. The reason why a classic becomes a classic must have its own advantages. We should understand and absorb from the process of looking at photos. Even if you shoot too much, you will naturally join your own thinking and understanding, make the classics work for yourself, and create your own system and style.

Be sure to shoot more.

Do you know the law of ten thousand hours? No one is born a genius, and any success needs corresponding efforts to be rewarded. If you want to be an expert in any field, you need to spend at least 10 thousand hours studying and practicing.

Daido Moriyama said that he would take 2000 photos every day. I remember a famous photographer told his students that if you want to take good photos, you must keep shooting 30 rolls a day (about 1 100), and then pick out the one you are most satisfied with, and you will make great progress after shooting for a while.

This may be a threshold of the film era. After all, buying 30 copies is not a small amount, but in the digital age, this threshold has been completely removed, and you can finally press the shutter without scruple.

But you can't press the shutter unscrupulously. Shooting more doesn't mean shooting blindly. Every shutter you take needs to be meaningful. You need to know why you pressed the shutter this time.

I have a deep understanding of this. I have to read a lot of submitted works every day. There are indeed many people who shoot very well, but some people just make a shutter casually. In my opinion, their blinds are meaningless blinds, with no content (or messy content), no focus, no theme and no framework. It's just a scratch

Maybe they didn't think so at the moment they pressed the shutter, maybe they just didn't know their camera, and what they saw in their eyes was completely different from what the camera took; Maybe they just don't know the rules and what rules to use to make the picture look more comfortable. But in the final analysis, they took too few photos. They didn't enter the state of taking pictures at all, and they didn't know how to use the equipment reasonably and record everything they saw. The more you shoot, the faster you make progress.

Be your own photographer.

Every photographer's initial inspiration comes from others. Because he saw the good photos taken by others, he wanted to take the same beautiful moment, so he picked up the camera and started his own photography from imitation.

But some people may imitate all their lives and can't dance from themselves. This is why we always see people taking pictures of flowers, birds, fish and insects, and always taking pictures of famous scenic spots. Open the search box and you will see thousands of photos that look exactly the same. So what's the point of your filming? Maybe it's just for my own happiness, which is also good.

But some people began to have an epiphany as soon as they clapped their hands and made up their minds to shoot their own style, so they began to think, change and add their ideas to those classic frameworks.

Although photography is a technology, it is also an art, which has basic composition rules and exposure rules, but it does not have a definition of what a really good photo is. The soul emanating from a good photo needs technical and aesthetic cultivation.

If you master the basic skills and rules, you will know what kind of photos will fail, but you never know what kind of photos will succeed. Only by adding your own elements and taking photos according to your own wishes can you take your own good photos.
