Yichun City is located in the northwest of Jiangxi Province. It has a history of more than 2200 years since the county was founded in Han Dynasty. It now governs six counties and one district, namely Zhangshu, Fengcheng, Gao 'an, Shanggao, Wanzai, Yifeng, Tonggu, Fengxin, Jing 'an and Yuanzhou, with a total area of 1.87 million square kilometers and a total population of 5.4 million, including Han, Hui, Mongolia and Yuanzhou. The territory is dominated by hills and mountains, with mild climate, abundant rainfall and four distinct seasons. Known as "beautiful mountains and rivers, fertile and sweet soil, its breath is like spring, and Xian Yi is everywhere".

Yichun is rich in natural resources. The city's forest coverage rate is 52.78%, which is a key forest area in Jiangxi and a key bamboo producing area in China. There are 600,000 kilowatts of proven hydropower resources and 380,000 kilowatts available for development. There are 4 1 species of proven minerals, among which tantalum and niobium are known as one of the "five golden flowers" in Jiangxi, and Yichun tantalum and niobium mine is the largest raw material production base of tantalum, niobium and lithium in China. Wollastonite reserves account for about 1/4 in China, and the reserves of raw coal, rock salt and limestone rank first in Jiangxi.

Yichun has a superior ecological environment. It is one of the first ecological pilot cities in China. All the seven rivers in China have reached the drinking water standard, and the air quality in 10 counties and cities has reached the national standard. There are 486 historical and cultural sites and 54 famous scenic spots. Famous scenic spots include "Hongzhou Kiln", one of the six famous kilns in Tang Dynasty, and Wucheng site in Shang Dynasty, as well as the earliest known local observatory in the world, Yuanzhou Tower, the place where Ge Xuan collects herbs for alchemy, and Gezao Mountain, one of the three famous Taoist mountains in the south of the Yangtze River. Yichun also has 1 national nature reserves, 1 national scenic spots, 4 national forest parks, 4 provincial forest parks, 2 provincial nature reserves and 4 provincial scenic spots. Sanzhaolun National Forest Park is known as "fairyland on earth"; Mingyue Mountain National Scenic Area "is better than Huangshan Mountain", where the only rare tree species in the world-Manglietia China grows. The hot springs in Wentang Town, the suburb of Yichun city, are rich in minerals such as selenium, and the water temperature is above 72℃ all the year round, which is a resort for recuperation and holiday.

Yichun is rich in cultural heritage. It has always been "the hometown of beautiful women in the south of the Yangtze River and the country with prosperous cultural relics". The Preface to Wang Tengting written by Wang Bo, a great writer in the Tang Dynasty, contains two sentences: "The extremes of things must be reversed" and "outstanding people", whose people, things and things all come from Yichun. When Han Yu was the secretariat of Yichun, he once wrote a poem praising Yichun, "Don't travel far to Yichun, there are many mountains and rivers." Yichun has been rich in humanities since ancient times, and talented people have come forth in large numbers. Historical celebrities include Xu Ruzi, an aristocratic scholar in the Han Dynasty, Tao Yuanming, a writer in the Jin Dynasty, Liu Shenxu and Zheng Gu, poets in the Tang Dynasty, Liu Shu and Du Ben, poets in the Yuan Dynasty, Xie Xisi and Fan, historians in the Ming Dynasty, Chen Bangzhan, scientist Song, famous anti-Japanese star Deng Zilong, famous ministers in the Qing Dynasty, Xin and Yang Ximao, and honest officials. Modern celebrities include revolutionaries, democratic fighters, dramatists Xiong Foxi, physicists Wu, Zhang Xun and others. Yichun has a long history of religious culture and is the birthplace of Buddhism in China. In Yichun, a magical land, there are many ancestral temples of Zen Buddhism. It is said that countless famen dragons have been opened among the mountains of Yichun, such as Yangshan Yin Qi Temple, Jing 'an Baofeng Temple Temple, Fengxin Baizhang Temple, Yifeng Dongshan Puli Temple and Huangbai Temple, which can be said to be full of clouds and colorful. Among the five schools of Zen, Lin Ji School sprouted from Berberis in Yifeng, Cao Dongzong School sprouted from Dongshan in Yifeng, and Huiyang School came to Yangshan in Yuanzhou. Mazu Yi Dao, Baizhang Huaihai, Huang Baiyun Xi, Yangshan Huiji, Dongshan Liangjia and other eminent monks gathered in Yichun, making Yichun's Zen culture rich and colorful. Many proverbs, idioms, words and major political events in history were formed or linked to Yichun because of Zen. At present, as far away as Japan, South Korea, Europe and America, most Zen methods can be directly or indirectly traced back to Yichun. Master Yi Cheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and president of the Chinese Buddhist Association, is still the abbot of Baofeng Temple in Jing 'an, Yichun.

Yichun, known as "agricultural county" in ancient times, is an important production base of commodity grain, camellia oleifera and high-quality ramie in China. It accounts for 1 1% of the province's cultivated land and 12% of the population, and grain, cotton, oil, pigs and aquatic products account for about 1/6 of the province, occupying a sufficient position in Jiangxi Province. Yichun's industrial economy has advanced by leaps and bounds, forming an industrial system composed of five pillar industries: medicine, food, building materials, electromechanical, energy, chemical industry and textile. Yichun has convenient transportation, the Beijing-Kowloon Railway runs through the north and south, and the Zhejiang-Jiangxi double-track runs through the east and west. A highway network with Jiangxi-Guangdong, Shanghai-Rui and Daguang expressways and 320 and 105 national highways as the backbone has basically taken shape. Yuanhe River and Jinhe River go straight into Ganjiang River, with a waterway voyage of 1000 kilometers. The infrastructure in Yichun city is improving day by day, and the city is changing with each passing day. Yichun has successively won the titles of national greening model city, national garden city, first-class management city of urban road traffic "unblocked project", excellent tourist city in China, and national health city. At present, according to the development plan of a medium-sized city with 72 square kilometers and a population of 500,000, the framework of building an economic center city in western Jiangxi is being opened, and the best livable city in the central region is being actively built.

Yichun's education, culture, health and other social undertakings have developed vigorously. The "two basics" education is the first to reach the standard, and the scale and quality of high school education ranks in the forefront of the province. Yichun university is an undergraduate college established in 2000 and the second comprehensive undergraduate university in the province. Medical institutions are all over urban and rural areas, and the number of beds per 10,000 people and the number of health technicians are higher than the provincial average. A hundred flowers blossom in cultural undertakings, such as Gao 'an tea-picking opera, Shanggao farmers' photography, Yuanzhou prints, Jing 'an farmers' poems, Yifeng root carving, bronze drum cartoons, Fengxin farmers' paintings, Wanzai Nuo dance, camphor tree dance and Fengcheng calligraphy, which together constitute Yichun's distinctive and unique regional cultural characteristics. Sports have developed vigorously, and more than 100 international and domestic sports events marked by the 5th National Farmers' Games have been successfully held. A large number of outstanding local athletes, represented by Yang Wenjun, champion of Olympic Games, Asian Games and National Games, have made great achievements in international and domestic sports events.
