What are the methods of film editing?
It can also be called editing basic skills. It has two main functions. One is to ensure the smooth transition of the lens and make the audience feel that the whole movie is done in one go.
; The second is to make the paragraphs and context of the film clear, so that the audience will not mistake the contents of different times and places for the same scene. Therefore, this kind of scissors
Series must do:
(1) to prevent confusion. The lens connection must be accurate, not disjointed or overlapped, and the direction and spatial relationship of the characters' actions must be consistent.
② Coordination of lens transformation. Editing often takes action form and rhythm as editing points, that is, "driven by action" and "static with static". "Moving and moving" refers to switching shots in the movement of shots or characters, such as panning shots one after another or escaping shots one after another. "Being still" means after an action (or still scene) and immediately before an action (or still scene).
③ Omit the actual process. That is, it omits the unnecessary process that is self-evident to the audience, while still maintaining the coherence of the action or plot. For example, the plane take-off lens followed by the plane landing lens can omit the traveling process, and the peach blossom lens followed by the defoliation lens can omit the time change process. Traditional editing is basically carried out according to normal life logic, but it is not a naturalistic record of the whole process of life.
Two: creative editing
Traditionally, the editing method that can improve the artistic effect of movies is called creative editing, which mainly includes the following types:
(1) Dramatic effect editing. Use to adjust the time and order of key shots; Choose the best editing point so that every shot appears at the most suitable time for the story to unfold.
② Editing of performance effect
. It is to simplify or boldly jump, selectively condense the analogy lens and highlight some emotions or ideas while ensuring the coherence and fluency of the narrative. Juxtapose some contrasting and similar shots to reveal the inner meaning.
Render the effect of the atmosphere.
③ Rhythm effect editing. Generally speaking, a short shot and a quick transition of the picture will cause a sense of urgency and tension; Long shots and slow picture transitions can lead to unresponsiveness or depression. Therefore, the alternation of long and short shots and the combination of fast and slow picture conversion can cause the psychological and emotional ups and downs of the audience. Taking advantage of this, we can control the mood of the audience and achieve the expected artistic effect by controlling the time of the picture and mastering the rhythm of change in editing. This editing rhythm is also called editing sound.
However, the length of the lens and the speed of conversion should not exceed the limit of the audience's understanding of the content meaning, otherwise it will cause confusion. Clip tones often express the plot or emotional paragraphs of the film, making the ups and downs of the film easy. The editing tone of a paragraph in a film is calculated by the number of shots, which is called the editing rate. A large number of shots is called high splicing rate or fast-paced editing; A few shots are called low splicing rate or slow-motion editing.
Three: film editing technology
No matter how good the shooting is, the editing part of the film is indispensable. When editing in the later stage of general film production, we should pay attention to editing film fragments. Generally, the original film obtained by film shooting is washed, and a set of working samples should be made for editing. The editor selects the required lens and film from a large number of samples, cuts the film with scissors, then sticks it together with tape or glue, and then watches the editing effect on the editing table (this process needs to be repeated)
When you enter the film editing part, you really enter the nonlinear part of the film. Sometimes high-tech editors don't edit movies step by step, that is, they don't edit them one by one in order. Many editors cut from the middle, insert a shot, or cut some pictures, which will not affect the whole film.
But this method is powerless for the production of many skills. Editors cannot make overlapping pictures between two shots, nor can they adjust the colors of the pictures. All these techniques can only be done in the process of development and printing. At the same time, the manual operation efficiency of scissors and paste is also very low
.
Film editing is based on the space in front of the photo and has the main shot. Montage is to take the lens as the material, and then form a movie time and space that is not in reality on the editing platform. China has many strange stories about the concept of Hollywood. This program is made up of the ideas of Hollywood editors and directors.
After World War II, andre bazan (19 18- 1958), a French film theorist, opposed the role of montage, believing that montage imposed the director's point of view on the audience and limited the fuzziness of the film, and advocated the use of depth-of-field lens and scene scheduling for continuous shooting, believing that only in this way could the integrity of plot space and the authenticity of time flow be maintained. However, the role of montage is undeniable. Film artists always use montages and long shots to create films.
Some people think that a long shot actually changes the scope and content of the shot by the action of the shot and the scheduling of the actors, which is called "internal montage". Montage can be divided into performance montage and narrative montage, and can be subdivided into psychological montage, lyric montage, parallel montage, cross montage, repeated montage, contrast montage, metaphor montage and so on.
Montage originally refers to the relationship between images. After the appearance of audio movies and color movies, the application of montage has a broader world in images and sounds (human voice, acoustics, music), sounds and sounds, colors and colors, light and shadow, etc. There are many names of montage, so far there is no clear grammatical norm and classification, but the film industry generally tends to be divided into three categories: narrative, lyrical and rational (including symbol, contrast and metaphor).
definition
Montage means "splicing" in French, but it has developed into a theory of lens combination in movies in Russia, and it is also a unique artistic technique, which is the meaning of freestyle painting in paint and painting industries.
When different lenses are spliced together, they often have special meanings that each lens does not have when it exists alone. This writing is also called montage.
compose
Montage generally includes two aspects: picture editing and picture synthesis. Picture synthesis: a unified picture work made up of many pictures or patterns juxtaposed or superimposed. Screen editing: The way or process of making this artistic combination is to arrange and combine a series of shots taken at different locations, different distances and different angles to describe the plot and portray the characters.
