Meiji Shrine Tokyo Metropolitan Government Tsukishima Fuji X-PRO2 takes you flying

IT168 Review Unlike yesterday where we could only test the machine within one square meter, today we can take the X-PRO2 out. Originally, I wanted to go to Kamakura High School to shoot the scene with the slam dunk master and the The beautiful ocean in Kanagawa Prefecture, but because my feet were too tired yesterday and didn’t feel any better today, I changed the shooting location to Meiji Jingu Shrine, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, and the outlet of Tsukishima area, but the test of X-PRO2 was still not good. After today's 23,757 steps, I have a deeper understanding of X-PRO2.

The girl I randomly picked up on the street in Japan is trying to show off. Just to explain, after taking this photo, the X-PRO2 just ran out of power, so there will be no more girls to take pictures of. Well, if I have a chance tomorrow, I will take another photo. Just add it and treat it as a portrait photo.

All the photos below are original JPGs, and the color mode is standard. The size has only been changed for the convenience of image transfer. There are several black and white photos to show off Fujifilm’s latest ACROS filter. Overall, the X-PRO2's direct-to-original footage has reached a very high level. This is also the concept advocated by Fujifilm of "reducing post-processing time and focusing more on photography", so I would like to compare it to cameras from other manufacturers. , the color saturation and contrast of Fuji cameras will be higher.

The first stop today is Meiji Jingu Shrine. This is my second time here. I was in a hurry the last time I came here, so I wanted to take a walk this time. Meiji Shrine is located in the center of Tokyo, next to the Shinjuku and Harajuku business districts. It has a very large area, which is very rare in Tokyo where land is at a premium.

The lens used with X-PRO2 is XF1024. The 15mm equivalent ultra-wide angle is very suitable for reflecting the magnificence of Meiji Shrine. When arriving at the outer garden of Meiji Jingu Shrine, you need to walk on a long gravel road. The trees here cover the sky and the sunlight shining down is very beautiful. However, I came a little late today, and the sun is closer to the top of my head. In this way, the sky The difference in brightness from the shadow part is even greater, so it's either extremely white or extremely dark, so it's best to come here early in the morning so that the sunlight will be softer.

The inner garden of the shrine has three pilgrimage paths in the north, south and west. Since today is Saturday, there are many tourists. Just when I was annoyed by the noisy crowd, I suddenly heard that there were people inside the shrine. The music started playing, and the melody was a bit like Chinese mourning music. I thought there would be an event to commemorate someone’s birthday this year, so I asked the Japanese next to me and told me that today was a wedding ceremony.

Here I want to complain about the fact that the X-PRO2 does not have a flip screen. For a user like me who is used to flipping the screen, it is really difficult to change back to the previous habit of not flipping the screen, such as the photo below. , the angle felt too bland when I was standing, so I wanted to take a few shots from a low angle. As a result, I habitually used my left middle finger to open the bottom edge of the screen, but then I remembered as if I was waking up from a dream that the X-PRO2 actually does not have a flip screen. In a hurry, You can only shoot blindly, so the accuracy of composition will be compromised.

But fortunately, X-PRO2 still has about 24 million pixels, and there is still room for cropping. But this kind of thing can only rely on luck. When changing the viewing angle without flipping the screen, it is usually There will always be some problems with composition, but it’s impossible to rely on cropping every time.

With the sunny weather and the excellent color of X-PRO2, there is almost no need to worry too much when shooting. The focus issue that the public is more concerned about, at least in terms of speed, I feel is already very fast, and the focus accuracy On the other hand, since I am using an ultra-wide-angle lens and most of the photos are taken with a small aperture, it is difficult to see it. However, at the end of the article, I used the XF35mm for testing.

While walking, I met a girl walking alone. Seeing that there was no one around, I went up and asked if she could take a photo. She readily agreed, but I was pressed for time and didn’t have time to change. The XF35/F2 lens was used to shoot directly with the XF1024, so the depth of field is very large.

After visiting the Meiji Jingu Shrine, we next came to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku District. Why come to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building? Because you can go to the observatory on the 45th floor for free, and you can overlook most of Tokyo, including The Imperial Palace, Meiji Jingu Shrine, Yoyogi Park, etc. Since it was noon when we came, the sunshine was very strong, and we couldn’t take photos with the backlight from the south, so we had to take a detour to the other side. By the way, this is the best place to take pictures of the sunset, but I didn’t plan to take pictures here today.

In addition, I also did a test of the ACROS filter here. The four pictures were set in order: standard, yellow filter, red filter, and green filter. Choose the appropriate black and white filter according to the current scene.

Then I went to the Tsukishima area. I originally planned to go directly to Odaiba to take pictures of the sunset and night view, but since I had enough time, I decided to go here first. When I arrived here, I found that there was a sightseeing speedboat, which only cost 1,000 yen for 40 minutes. I temporarily decided not to go to Odaiba and took pictures on the yacht.

I took two pictures of this young lady. As a weirdo, I want to mention the X-PRO2’s remote control stick. It is very convenient to directly change the focus point. In the past, you had to pan or enter the secondary menu. Adjusting the focus point can now be done in a few tenths of a second. Snapshots are completely different from the previous X series.

After taking the photos of the speedboat part, there was not enough time left to rush to Odaiba to take the sunset. In addition, my feet were very tired, so I sat quietly by the port and watched the sunset. Occasionally When I saw a jogger passing by, I quickly picked up the camera and took a photo. I didn’t have time to set the high-speed continuous shooting, so I only took one picture. After all, the person running by was in the backlight direction and was moving very fast. I thought this would be the focus. It may not be possible, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the focus was actually right, the outline of the character was clear, and the background was blurred just right. It was just because the shutter speed was a bit slow that there was some smearing.

In addition, I also met a Japanese photographer friend and took a silhouette of him, and the focus was right in one go. The minimum focus illumination of X-PRO2 reaches -3EV, which is not mentioned in the brochure. Although it is not as powerful as -4EV of several other flagships, this performance is already very good.

The rest of the time was spent watching the sunset quietly. For a lazy person like me, watching the sunrise is too luxurious. Watching the sunset can also give you a different feeling. X-PRO2 recorded this. A gorgeous yet short time.

The first day of trial of X-PRO2 has ended like this. I don’t think there is much innovation, but in many small details, X-PRO2 has been very thoughtful and very comfortable to use. The focus has greatly improved the previous procrastinating rhythm. The controls are excellent except for the ISO dial. In some scenes, I can operate quickly without looking at the buttons, allowing me to spend more time on photography itself. Although many people have their own opinions on previous Fuji X models. opinions, including the always-slow pixel upgrade, the lack of full frame, etc., but the birth of X-PRO2 has begun to make many people full of expectations. Serving photography, not cameras, returning to the original intention, isn't it? Is this so?

Tomorrow I will go to Fujifilm's factory in Sendai to visit the production lines and packaging processes of X-PRO2 and XF35F2, etc. I will share my experience as soon as possible. See you tomorrow!
