For example, CMOS image sensor only needs one set of power supply, while CCD needs three or four sets of power supply. Because the technology of ADC and signal processor is different from that of CCD, it is difficult to reduce the size of CCD suite. But at present, the primary problem of CMOS image sensor is to reduce noise.

With the development of technology, CMOS is better and better than CCD. However, at present, large array CCD is still better than COMS, but it is extremely expensive. In the field of photography, coms is as good as CCD at present.
