According to the Media Technical Manual of the International Olympic Committee, an important duty of the media operation of the Beijing Olympic Games is to provide uniform standard facilities and services for accredited media in the competition venues of 37 co-host cities in Beijing and outside Beijing, as well as the three non-competition venues of the Olympic Village, Media Village and ioc headquarters Hotel.

The goal of the venue media center is to provide the best working environment for registered journalists and photographers so that they can successfully report the Olympic Games. Its work is based on the requirements of the IOC technical manual and the standards of previous Olympic Games.

Through many discussions with the International Olympic Committee, the capacity of the Beijing Olympic Games venue media center was determined and confirmed by the International Olympic Committee on August 12, 2006. The capacity of the venue media center is determined according to the experience of previous Olympic Games, and the specific situation of the venue and the development of sports in China are comprehensively considered.

The venue media center team is responsible for the operation of Beijing 365,438+0 venue media center, and coordinates the media operation in six co-host cities outside Beijing, namely Qingdao (sailing) and Hong Kong (equestrian), as well as Shanghai, Tianjin, Qinhuangdao and Shenyang. In addition, the venue media center team is also responsible for the planning and operation of three non-competition venue media centers.

Now, the preparation for the operation of the venue media center is changing from the planning stage to the venue stage. The staff of the venue media center works closely with the venue designers, owners and BOCOG venue team to ensure that the different media needs of venues are met, and the media facilities and services meet the requirements of the International Olympic Committee and the practices of previous Olympic Games.
