Matthew was born in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, in 1974. His zodiac sign is Libra. He is married to Keeley Hawes, actress (and colleague) in "spooks" (British BBC TV series, also known as MI5), and their little daughter is named Maggie.

His mother is an actress and drama teacher.
