action

Zheng Panji first put forward the concept of nature reserve community in China, which promoted the leaping development of Wuyuan's ecological protection. Wuyuan first discovered that "yellow throat noise" caused a sensation in the world of biology. For decades, Zheng Panji has made his own contribution to the ecological protection and tourism development of Wuyuan. The national nature reserve proposed and established by Zheng Panji has turned Wuyuan into one of the most beautiful villages in China. This model has been praised as "Wuyuan Model" by the Ministry of Forestry, and has been widely implemented in many parts of the country, making many people realize their dream of living in parks.

Wuyuan model

In April, 1992, Zheng Panji read in Science and Technology Daily that three academicians of China Academy of Sciences, including Li Qingkui, suggested establishing a miniature forest nature reserve. Then, he read in China Forestry News that Guangdong 108 experts and professors jointly issued the initiative of "establishing socialized and mass nature reserves". Zheng Panji was at the beginning of his life, and soon wrote a paper on the establishment of township and village nature reserves in Wuyuan. In this paper, he put forward the idea and concrete method of establishing nature reserve community by using natural forests around villages in this county.

In July of the same year, with the support of the county party committee and the county government, Zheng Panji chose a natural forest as a demonstration site in Yutan Village, Qiukou Town, set up a community leading group to build a nature reserve, concluded a protection convention, delineated the protection boundary and set up a monument. According to industry experts, this is the first nature reserve community in China, with an initial area of only 1.25 mu. Throw "bricks" to attract "jade" The nature reserve initiated by Zheng Panji made Wuyuan county leaders see the bright spot of developing ecological economy. The county government soon issued the "Notice on Carrying out the Investigation and Planning of Nature Reserves in our county", requiring the leaders in charge of forestry in towns and villages to take the lead in planning and investigating the mountain fields that should be built in nature reserves, and then report them to the government for approval and publication. By the end of 20 12, six types of nature reserves 19 1 have been established in the county, covering a total area of 650,000 mu. Almost every village has its own protected area, and there is a green world everywhere.

It is precisely because of the pioneering nature reserve that Zheng Panji won the World Invention Award (IFIA) of the International Federation of Inventors' Associations 1994. Farragar Moussa, president of the Vienna International Federation, also wrote a certificate in person, entrusting Wu Hengqin, president of the China Invention Association, to present the award to Zheng Panji himself.

From 65438 to 0995, "community construction of nature reserves" was praised as "Wuyuan model" by the Ministry of Forestry and was popularized. In the same year, the State Science and Technology Commission, Ministry of Personnel, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Forestry, Ministry of Water Resources and other units jointly awarded him the title of "National Advanced Worker in Agricultural Science and Technology Extension". Pars, an expert of the United Nations and a professor at the University of Freiburg, Germany, said during his visit to Jiangxi that Wuyuan's practice of establishing nature reserves is not only a very successful model in China, but also a model for all countries in the world.

By the end of 2000, Wuyuan model had been popularized all over the country, and 503 19 nature reserves were established, with a total area of1355,800 hectares.

Green land tracking

Yellow throat laugh is one of the endangered rare birds in the world, which is only distributed in Wuyuan, Jiangxi, Simao, Yunnan and Assam, India. Bermuda grass with yellow throat is a kind of Eragrostis, with small body, gorgeous feathers and beautiful voice. It is said that the earliest specimen of yellow throat noise in the world was collected by a French missionary in Wuyuan in 192 1 year.

The yellow throat noise, known as Wuyuan species, has not been heard from for nearly a hundred years. During the period of 1993, the British Society for the Protection of Birds accidentally discovered a precious yellow-throated blackbird among a batch of thrush imported from China, which attracted great attention. It specially telegraphed the endangered species import and export management department in China, and sent a color photo of yellow-throated snakehead. It is confirmed to be Wuyuan species, which has attracted the attention of ornithologists at home and abroad.

1996 65438+In February, an internationally funded survey was officially launched. An investigation team composed of senior experts and scientific and technical personnel from the Institute of Zoology of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Provincial Forestry Department and Wuyuan County Forestry Bureau conducted a three-year arduous field investigation in the mountains and villages of Wuyuan County. Zheng Panji starts at 5 o'clock every morning. First, he took a bus to the mountainous area, and then climbed up the mountain to look for it. In the afternoon, he must go down the mountain before 5 o'clock, otherwise he will miss the bus back to the county seat. In order to wait, he often eats dry food when he is hungry and drinks mountain springs when he is thirsty. Sometimes he has to disguise himself and can't make a sound. Some dried leeches will crawl up unnoticed, eat enough and drink enough human blood before they automatically roll down.

On May 24, 2000, a bird with yellow feathers in its throat accidentally broke into the field of vision of Zheng Panji telescope and caught his attention. For an instant, he was ecstatic and pursued, so he must see it clearly. In a tall broad-leaved forest, he found dozens of yellow throats singing or jumping, chasing or beating on the branches, which was vivid and exciting. He picked up the camera, kept looking for the target, and took several photos in succession, leaving precious and credible photos of physical evidence.

In April, 20001,Dr. Roland Wurth, President of the German Association for the Protection of Animal Species and Populations, and his party made a special trip to Wuyuan to inspect the yellow-throated noise, and signed a three-year cooperation agreement, providing a special protection fund of $3,000 per year for free. In June, 5438+in the same year 10, WWF included the construction of Wuyuan Yellow-throated Humpback Whale Nature Reserve in the "Small Fund for the Protection of Rare Species in China" project, and invested 5,000 US dollars to build the Yellow-throated Humpback Whale Nature Reserve.

In 2002, Zheng Panji's thesis "Study on the Construction and Function of Wuyuan Yellow Throat Noise Protection Community" won the first prize of Ford Motor Environmental Protection Award for Natural Environmental Protection Project.

In April, 2007, the animal protection associations of Britain, Germany and France signed a cooperation protocol for the Yellow Throat Noise Project, providing special funds every year. Zheng Panji was hired as a senior consultant for this cooperation. By 20 12, nearly 200 blackbirds with yellow throats were found in six places in this county.

Zhongqing ecology

Zheng Panji attaches great importance to Wuyuan's eco-cultural tourism resources. He has visited scenic spots in the county and published articles such as "Wuyuan Lingyan Ancient Cave Group" and "Zhu and Tree Planting". 1April, 985, he drafted and reported the establishment of "Lingyandong Group Forest Park" and reported it to the Ministry of Forestry. After Dong Zhiyong, then Vice Minister of Forestry, learned about this incident, the Propaganda Department invited eight news organizations in Beijing to Wu. The Ministry of Forestry also issued a document in May 1988 approving the construction of Lingyandong Forest Park. According to insiders, it was the first national forest park in Jiangxi Province at that time, and the development of forest parks in China was just beginning. He can only cross the river by feeling the stones and quickly lead technicians into the scenic spot for investigation and planning. After half a year's field investigation, exploration inside the cave, surveying and mapping outside the cave, and data collection, he wrote the book "Master Planning and Design of Lingyandong National Forest Park" in August 1989, and then personally implemented the development of the forest park. At the end of 1992, he applied to the Ministry of Forestry for the construction of Lingyandong Forest Park. After listening to the report, Vice Minister Dong Zhiyong took a group photo with Zheng Panji in the office as a souvenir, and asked him to arrange and implement the national forestry photography training course in Lingyandong Forest Park in the second year, with the funds provided by the Ministry of Forestry.

Wuyuan Village has been praised by the media as "the most beautiful village in China", and Zheng Panji has long been impressed by the beauty of ancient trees near the village. During the period of 1985, Director Li Mingzhi of the Provincial Forestry Department visited Wuyuan. Accompanied by Zheng Panji, he went to the old house next to the township government for tea and was very interested in the ancient osmanthus trees near the fish farm in the hospital. Zheng Panji immediately reported that there were many famous ancient trees in the county, and he was able to photograph and edit them into books. When the director thought it would be the earliest album of ancient trees in China, he immediately issued a statement and allocated 30,000 yuan for the album. Zheng Panji acted quickly, investigating, writing, shooting and publishing the color photo album of Wuyuan Ancient Trees on 1986, and then shooting a TV movie for Love of Ancient Trees in the form of sightseeing. Because of the novel theme and form, it won the second prize in the TV competition of six provinces in East China and was broadcast on CCTV. The ancient trees around Wuyuan village have been fully protected through the album and TV publicity of ancient trees in Wuyuan. There are 5533 ancient and famous trees listed as protection objects in the county, accounting for one-third of the ancient and famous trees in the province and one-tenth of the number. Based on the impression of the first color photo album and TV of ancient trees in China, in May 2005, a national seminar on the Regulations on the Protection of Ancient and Famous Trees and a review meeting on the compilation scheme of China Ancient and Famous Trees Photo Album were held in Wuyuan. At that time, the TV shooting place of "Ancient Trees in Love" has now become a tourist attraction or scenic spot in Wuyuan.

In 2008, Zheng Panji had retired for ten years, but his obsession with ecological protection remained unchanged. Avoiding the intense heat, he climbed mountains thousands of meters above sea level in the dark for seven consecutive days, conducted environmental investigation and collected specimens, which provided information for Wuyuan to build two provincial nature reserves, namely, Heyuan in Guan Yue and Dagushan, and contributed to the county's construction of the world's largest ecological and cultural park.

Zheng Panji's feelings for nature and his busy life without regrets have won the understanding and support of his family. The Provincial Women's Federation awarded the honor of "Green Family in Jiangxi Province", and the All-China Women's Federation and the State Environmental Protection Administration jointly awarded the second national "Green Family" certificate, praising the family's contribution to society.
