How to better shoot the moon with a mobile phone

You can set the custom mode of the camera to save the time of repeated adjustment (if the camera supports it):

(1) Switch the camera to full manual mode, which can control the shutter, aperture and ISO (sensitivity).

(2) Set ISO to the lowest level (making the camera insensitive to light), such as 50 or 100. But you can also try ISO 200. (3) Set the shutter speed to 1/x, where x is the ISO value you set in step 2.

(4) Use a narrow aperture to ensure sufficient depth of field and limit the amount of light entering. The F 1 1 aperture is famous for being suitable for shooting on the moon. You can try this gear first. Actually, F8 to F 16 should be no problem.

(5) The most important thing is to adjust the metering mode to spot metering or partial metering. This will force the camera to reduce the amount of light. After choosing spot metering, put the moon in the center of the picture, change the measured value with the camera, and then you can make a composition. Remember, when you measure light, the moon must be the only thing in your field of vision, and anything darker than the moon must be darker in the frame.

(6) Use manual focusing to improve clarity. If the camera has exposure surround mode, please turn it on. This function allows you to take three photos with different exposures when you press the shutter, thus jumping out of the most beautiful one.

After the adjustment, we can start shooting. Once you want to shoot, you don't need to adjust the aperture shutter, ISO and exposure compensation greatly (fine tuning is enough).
