In 2002, he was funded by Raoul Wohlenberg Institute and Norwegian Institute of Human Rights in Sweden and Norway, and was invited to be a senior visiting scholar in these two research institutions.
In 2004, he was funded by the Norwegian Institute of Human Rights and went to Oslo for research.
In 2005, funded by the Canadian government, he went to Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto for academic visits and exchanges.
