What are the interesting places in Zhuhai?
Shijingshan is actually a place frequented by many Zhuhai people, and Jingshan Park is at the foot of the mountain (it seems that it will be rebuilt recently). The mountain is not very high, and it is quite leisurely to climb. There is a viewing platform on the top of the mountain, overlooking the fisherman, the beach and the sun, moon and shellfish. When the weather is fine in summer, you can see the peaks opposite Hong Kong and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge across the Pearl River Estuary. The scenery is very good.
2. Jida Reservoir
Jida Reservoir is a good place to get close to nature in the center of Zhuhai. Go along Jining Road, you can see the parking lot of Jida Reservoir not far away, and then walk deeper for a while, you can see the path leading to the reservoir area. These mountain trails were all opened up for earlier explorers. There were no artificial slabs, no steel guardrails, only unadorned dirt trails, which preserved the most primitive state of nature.
Some places with dangerous terrain have been spontaneously named by tourists, and even some original road signs point to these "scenic spots". It is hard to imagine that there is such an original ecological place in the center of Zhuhai city. If you stay here for a while, the troubles of the outside world will soon be swept away.
To visit Jida Reservoir, you can walk around the mountain or along the shore, and each has its own fun. Walking around the mountain can give you a glimpse of the reservoir scenery on the mountain and feel the fun of walking through the mountains. In places with dangerous terrain, sometimes you need to cross a wooden bridge made of several trunks by bold pathfinders, which is very thrilling. Walking along the shore, you can get close to the lake, stroll and sing songs, or bring some fishing rods and find a place to sit around and fish for a day. It is also very fun.
Jida Reservoir is rich in vegetation, with a variety of native plants in Zhuhai, which can also be regarded as a small botanical garden in the urban area of Zhuhai. The most common is the roadside myrtle, which blooms gorgeous flowers, and there are small pieces of Pinus tabulaeformis growing on the shore, which are lush. Some ferns also grow very luxuriantly.
Myrtle and water cypress
Happily, a rare insect-eating plant, Nepenthes, grows in Jida Reservoir. There is only one species of Nepenthes in China, which is scattered in the mountains of Guangdong and Hainan. Before, it was only heard that there were a few distributed on the peaks of Phoenix Mountain, Huangyang Mountain and Sanzao Gaolan Hengqin. I really didn't expect that wild Nepenthes were found in Jida Reservoir in the center of Zhuhai.
The wild Nepenthes has wide leaves and a small green cage, which looks very cute. However, it will secrete honey to attract insects into the cage, and it is a veritable cold-blooded killer. Nepenthes are rare now. If you encounter it, please don't disturb it, just let it grow quietly in its habitat.
There are many places to explore in Phoenix Mountain, which is located in the northern part of Zhuhai. Unfortunately, I have been there too few times, so I won't introduce it here.
3. jialinshan, Wan Chai
jialinshan is a wild mountain with little development. There is a mountain crossing near Wan Chai Middle School and a fairy shrine in Wan Chai. Most of the whole journey is dirt road, and a small section is ladder, so the climbing process is relatively easy. There are often local wild flowers and fruits on the roadside, which is quite interesting. Jialinshan is also an excellent place overlooking Hengqin and Macau. There is a natural viewing platform on the ridge with excellent scenery. When it comes to the Macau Fireworks Festival, I heard that many photographers will come to jialinshan to shoot fireworks. It is worth noting that, due to the fire in Phoenix Mountain at the end of 17th century, Phoenix Mountain and jialinshan will be closed in winter and cannot enter.
4. Hengqin Mangzhou Wetland Park
Mangzhou Wetland Park is located in the northwest corner of Hengqin, which is a newly built wetland park in recent years. The environment of wetland park is good, and there are wooden plank roads for sightseeing in the park, which is more suitable for leisure walking. If you meet the right season, you can see waterfowl flying in groups. Wetland Park is also a good scenic spot. There is a three-storey viewing platform in the park, which can have a panoramic view of Modaomen. The newly completed Hengqin Second Bridge is also very beautiful.
