Beyond the romantic love line, Going to a Windy Place constructs a vivid and warm picture of rural life, trying to present an open and energetic rural daily life through group drama. The heroine Xu is responsible for the romantic imagination of "poetry and distance" and satisfies the psychological demands of the audience to escape from the big city and get close to nature.

The play tells the story of Xie Zhiyao who lived briefly in Yunnan after Xu resigned and accidentally met Xie Zhiyao who gave up his high salary and returned to his hometown to start a business. After staying in a windy yard for a while, he learned the stories of tenants who came here with different experiences and stories. Synopsis of "Going to a Windy Place"

Xu (Liu Yifei), whose life and work are at a low ebb due to the death of her close friend, comes to the fengyuan of Yunmiao Village in Dali to rest and adjust. There, she met Xie Zhiyao (Li Xian), a local who quit his high-paying job and went back to his hometown to start a business, and a group of peers from big cities.

In daily life, Xie Zhiyao felt Xu's kindness and seriousness, and invited Xu to use her years of hotel experience to help local employees improve their service awareness and help Yunmiao Village develop cultural tourism. At the same time, Xu was invited by Xie Zhiyao to build his hometown, so that the villagers were moved by powerful and useful ideals, and the two people were separated and finally came together.

In Dali, other people in Xu and the small courtyard were moved by the hard work and tenacity of the local villagers and their ups and downs. They re-examine the past, help each other, encourage each other, sort out their mood in windy places, and gain the strength to start over.
