What are the Golden Rooster Awards?

The Golden Rooster Award consists of 20 awards, including best feature film, best small and medium budget feature film, best children's film, jury special award, best documentary/science film, best art film, best opera film, best foreign language film, as well as best screenwriter, best director, best directorial debut, best actor, best actress, best supporting actor, best photography, best recording, best art, best music and best editing.

According to the newly revised articles of association, the jury is divided into feature film selection committee, science and education film/documentary film selection committee, art film selection committee and opera film selection committee. After observing all the participating films, each primary selection team voted for each shortlisted film.

Golden rooster award selection rules

The awards of the Selection Committee are divided into two stages: initial evaluation and final evaluation.

1, preliminary evaluation, after careful discussion on the films and candidates who are qualified to participate in the evaluation, the selection committee will produce the "jury nomination list" for each award by secret ballot.

2. In the final evaluation, the selection committee will vote by secret ballot, and the best winner of each award will be produced according to the voting results.
