How to shoot light and shadow with rx 100?

1, using the color of light.

As we all know, the color of the sun changes slowly from morning till night. It is warm red and yellow in the morning and evening, turns white at noon, and appears mysterious blue in shadows and cloudy days. In addition, candles, incandescent lamps, fluorescent lamps and other light sources around us have different colors. Photographers can make full use of these colored lights when shooting to create beautiful pictures. For example, the glow in the sky in the morning and evening is rich in color, which can be used to increase the appeal of the picture. There is another color effect of sunrise and sunset that deserves our attention. Before and after sunrise and sunset, there is a ribbon on the horizon, which is very eye-catching. Shooting it into the picture can increase the color effect of the picture. At sunrise and sunset, there are more orange light and red light components in the spectrum; After the sun rises, the spectral color is white; There are more blue and blue light components in the spectrum on cloudy days and in the shadows of landscapes. In the same place, the color recorded by the camera will be different with different light irradiation time.

The picture was taken under the condition of cloudy and scattered light, and the color temperature was about 6000K K K. The blue and blue components in the spectrum "dyed" the birch forest into a blue tone, giving it a mysterious color.

2. Use the intensity of light

The change of light is also reflected in the change of intensity. At noon on a sunny day, the light shines at the largest angle and shines straight on the ground. At this time, the object will transmit shadows on the ground, and the light intensity is very different between the light receiving side and the backlight side. In the morning and evening, the light is weak, the light ratio is small and the projection is large; When the sun is blocked by thin clouds and cloudy days, the light is weak, the light ratio is small, and the projection is small or even no projection. In most cases, the ratio of strong light to high light is not conducive to landscape photography. Many photographers get up early and get greedy for the dark because the sunshine is small and the light is soft in the morning and evening, which is suitable for showing the details of the scene. Therefore, when shooting, you should generally choose to shoot when the light is weak and the light is relatively small, so that you can better control the contrast and achieve better shooting results.

Note: In the case of strong light contrast, you can use gradient grey mirror to reduce the light ratio, or you can use a polarizer to darken the sky. Sometimes when you can't have it both ways, you can only ensure the accurate exposure of the subject and discard the less important parts.

Step 3 Use the direction of light

The direction of light is very important for shooting. If you can stand still in one place, you will find that different lighting directions can make subtle changes in the scene. According to the direction of light, we usually divide it into front light, side light, backlight, high light and low light.

(1) headlights

As we often say, the light source illuminates the scene from the shooting position, with uniform illumination and small contrast, and the lines, shapes, textures and colors of the scene can be well expressed. The front light is often ignored by many beginners of landscape photography, who think that the front light is too flat and the scenery lacks three-dimensional sense. In fact, it is a very useful lamp. When we face the scene, it is not a plane, but a sense of depth. There is a perspective relationship between scenes, which can make the picture have three-dimensional space, and the color difference between scenes can also show a sense of space. For example, warm colors are visually expansive and close to us, while cool colors are visually contractive and far away from us. If we deal with the tones and increase the contrast between them, the picture will be

(2) Side lights

The light source is projected to the scene from one side, and there is obvious shadow on one side of the scene, with large contrast, obvious three-dimensional effect, rich color levels and very good light. The contrast of sidelight scenery is large and the shadow is heavy, so we should pay attention to the echo relationship between shadow and subject. Too many shadows will destroy the integrity of the picture and weaken the performance of the subject.

The success of the above picture lies in the use of side light. The long shadow of the tree lying on the road as the foreground not only increases the rhythm of the picture, but also darkens the tone of the foreground and reduces the contrast. Otherwise, the bright foreground will spoil the tone of the whole picture.

(3) Backlight

The light shines from the opposite side of the shooting position. Backlight is the most expressive light effect in landscape photography. Backlight can make the scenery bright, and the stems and leaves of plants are transparent and infectious under backlight. There is an obvious example. When you look at the lawn along the light, the grass will look dark green and dull, but when you look from another direction, the sun will penetrate the grass and make it look furry and prosperous. Backlight can make the main body in a light receiving state and the background in a non-light receiving state. The brightness of the subject is high, the color reproduction is good, the background brightness is low, and the color reproduction is poor, which increases the contrast between the subject and the background and the cold and warm contrast of the color. Weaken the background and strengthen the subject.

Note: When shooting in backlight, you must use a hood to prevent stray light from entering the lens, resulting in "halo" phenomenon (also known as "ghost") and reducing color saturation.

This photo was taken by side backlighting. Normally, I use the front light. Why did I use the backlight this time? Mainly because I expected the morning glow in the sky according to the actual situation, and wanted to take the rich clouds in the sky into the picture to increase the appeal of the picture. Secondly, the backlight can fully reflect the level, texture and color of the scene. On the picture, the clouds are colorful, the grassland is like a stretched carpet, the young trees are dragging long shadows, and the river in the distance is shining. This is the charm of backlight.

(4) Scattered light

When the sun is covered with thin clouds and it is cloudy, light is scattered. Scattered light has no definite directionality, and the scene has no projection, which can well represent the color and texture of the scene. When using scattered light to create landscape photography, we should use color contrast, tone contrast, size contrast and texture contrast to achieve the purpose of creation.

This picture was taken under the condition of light scattering in foggy days. Fog weakens the distant scenery, birch with clear foreground contrasts with fuzzy background, and dark foreground contrasts with bright background. The yellow of the birch in the foreground contrasts with the blue of the background.

Each art form has its own unique expression method. Photography is the art of light and shadow. Light is the life of photography, and light and shadow constitute the most basic element of photography. Light itself can be expressed in many ways, and a literate photographer can choose the most appropriate form to express the characteristics of the subject and express his feelings. But before we make full use of the great potential of light, we must analyze it, understand its various characteristics and be familiar with its various functions and uses. Carefully observe the relationship between the subject and the light, and then try to shoot from different angles, times and directions, try to find the most suitable light to express the subject and take satisfactory photos.
