What are the wedding customs in Taiyuan?

Refers to the six rites of Han Dynasty.

The first step is to protect your family.

The so-called pro-care is to introduce marriage, commonly known as "matchmaking."

The second step is to get married

Both men and women use a red paper passbook to write the date of birth (year, month, day and time), and ask Mr. Juzi to check whether it is consistent, commonly known as "batch of eight characters", which is called "marriage".

Step 3: Release

Letting go, commonly known as "engagement", is a procedure to determine the marriage relationship. After that, the man will give the woman a dowry (or a makeup promotion gift), and he will send tea, a snack box and three sets of clothes. After receiving the dowry from the man, the woman will send the dowry from her mother's family to the man's house the afternoon before marriage.

The fourth step is to get married

Wedding, also called "wedding" or "kissing", was the most lively step in the old society and was usually held in the morning. First of all, the bride will go to the bridal chamber to give incense to heaven and earth, and the groom will kowtow three times according to the meaning of marrying a wife, and then carry a big sedan chair to the woman's house to meet the bride. There are a pair of umbrellas and mirrors in front of the car, twenty-four or thirty-two trumpeters (including eight drums), plus voiceless sounds. There are all kinds of flags in front, such as silence cards, fans, pairs of golden lamps, melons, axes, stools and so on. In front is a pair of gongs. If the groom greets him personally, eight people with green embroidery carry a big sedan chair, and the groom sits in it and walks in front of the red sedan chair. As for the entourage, there are media, groomsmen, married people, compliments and so on.

After the wedding procession of the woman, all the grooms should visit the host of the woman and invite the bride to get on the sedan chair. All the people who attended the celebration sang congratulations and paid their respects. If the bride is invited to the sedan chair, it is praised as "Please invite the upstart to the sedan chair, please …" After three invitations, the old man helps the bride tidy up. The bride sat cross-legged and put down the curtains. The groom is still sitting in the green sedan chair. When the groom left, he was wearing a red robe. When he came to the woman's house, she invited her elders to put on another red robe for the groom, making it a red double robe with golden flowers on it.

After the wedding procession returned, the bride's sedan chair was directly carried to the audience and removed. At this time, a candle was lit in the center of the auditorium, and there was a memorial tablet of heaven and earth on it, which was scented by the invited "old birthday star" (the man's older elders). Between the altar and the sedan chair, there are two chairs on the left and right. Two female companions sit at the table and two female companions sit next to each other. At this time, the old man brought a tea tray with five cups of sugar tea on it. The companion sister-in-law and aunt each raise a cup, and the other cup is carried by the old man. When the curtain is lifted and passed in the car, it is presented to the bride. Sister-in-law and aunt only hold tea in their hands, and then take the cups back one by one. After the tea was delivered, the giver praised, "Please invite the groom into Huatang. Please ... "After three invitations, the best man accompanied the groom into the hall. The flatterer praised: "Bow up" and "Bow to the sedan chair", and the groom bowed out. At this time, the singer asked the bride to get off the sedan chair, and the bride stood in front of the altar with the help of the old man and removed the sedan chair. Then invite the groom into the hall to worship heaven and earth, kowtow three times, and stand up after the ceremony. At this time, the giver praised: "Please celebrate the birthday of the old birthday girl, please …" After three invitations, the old birthday girl went to the hall. The tribute handed a longevity stick (made of straw) wrapped in red paper with a happy word inserted on it. The old birthday star clasped the longevity stick in his hand on the groom's crown three times, saying, "Many blessings, many longevity and many men", then clasped the bride's rockhopper three times, saying, "Forever water is precious, Yongkang Ning", and then quit. At this time, the editor praised: "Husband and wife worship", men bow and women pay tribute. After the ceremony, sing along to watch the bride and groom enter the bridal chamber. Put a bag of sorghum rice in front of the bridal chamber bed, and the bride will be helped to walk back and put the food on the bed. Then sit down. Both the bride and groom are sitting on the edge of the kang in the new house. The groom puts his left skirt on the bride's right skirt, indicating that men are going to overwhelm women, indicating that men and women are already in the same bed. After the married wife said a few auspicious words, she pulled the account, which is called "withdrawing the account". Then, the bride and groom drink. When drinking, tie two glasses together with a red rope. A married wife gives the groom one cup, and the wife gives the bride another, each with half a cup, and then exchange, which means "a thousand miles of marriage is tied by a thread." Then, the newlyweds eat "descendants jiaozi" and "longevity noodles" together. When eating, the man usually arranges a boy to ask loudly through the window, "Are you raw?" The married wife or groom replied, "Life!" It means to have offspring. So "sitting on an account" is a gift. After taking the order, the groom withdrew from the rest, and the birthday girl sent the burning heaven and earth code, and the ceremony of meeting the bride was completed.

The fifth step is to make trouble in the bridal chamber.

On the wedding night, there is usually a "bridal chamber". In Beijing and many places in the north, the custom of "three days without size" is popular. People with old ideas think that the more noisy it is, the more noisy it is, and there is even a saying that "people are not haunted."

Step 6: Go back to the door

On the third day after the wedding, the bride usually goes back to her mother's house to say goodbye to her father, brothers and relatives. This is the so-called "back to the door", also known as "back to the wine." Usually early in the morning, the bride's family will send someone to pick her up in a carriage. Before leaving, the bride will kowtow to her in-laws, and then take a carriage with the groom to pick her up. After arriving at the bride's family, the newlyweds should salute the ancestral tablet of the Buddha in the family hall, and then kowtow to the woman's parents and elders. After watching the ceremony, they held a banquet to invite the newlyweds to drink. After dinner, the groom goes home alone, and the bride won't come back until evening.
