Teach you the skills of shooting scenery with a sense of hierarchy.

Lead: The scenery in front of us is magnificent and beautiful, but it is so dull. Perhaps the lighting conditions at the scene are not good, or the camera's endurance is not enough, but in fact these problems can be overcome! The following is the sharing of photographer Ziyi's shooting experience. Let's see how to find the primary and secondary relationship of screen elements and increase the layering of landscape works!

First, the source of layering

In my films, I will especially emphasize the sense of space, and often intentionally enhance or weaken the contrast between the middle and main images to highlight the main body. For example, this film, by weakening the brightness at both ends of heaven and earth &; Brightness reduces the contrast at both ends, and then locally enhances the contrast of the middle subject of the picture, so that a good sense of primary and secondary and a sense of space are obvious.

Light and shadow map

In the way of painting, it is more intuitive to simply draw the adjusted light and shadow. I think everyone will see the brightest place at first sight (haha, dawn in the dark), and when the surrounding sub-elements are darkened, the subject will be placed in the visual point.

Second, the primary and secondary relationship between the performance pictures

I usually use contrast to show the primary and secondary relationship of screen elements, highlighting the sense of hierarchy.

1. Brightness contrast

When processing photos, the brightness of the main body is relatively bright, and the secondary elements gradually weaken and darken, so that the main body can be contrasted with other elements of the brightness of the picture, and their primary and secondary relationships can be highlighted. As shown in the following figure, the brightness of the water surface is weakened consciously in the post-processing and the visual point is pushed to the main body.

2. Contrast and contrast

Contrast can also be used as an element to express the primary and secondary relationship of the picture. When adjusting the contrast of the picture, the contrast of the subject is relatively high, the contrast of the details is large, and the secondary elements gradually weaken, and the audience's line of sight will be attracted by the subject with high contrast. In the picture below, the contrast of the main building is the highest, and the contrast of the distant and nearby Woods is gradually decreasing.

3. Comparison between reality and reality

The sharpness of the subject is higher, the secondary element is gradually weakened, and even some later blurring and blurring are done to realize the contrast between reality and reality. In fact, what is commonly used in shooting? Large aperture background blur? The trick is to use the contrast between reality and reality in the picture. The sharpness of the subject is processed to the highest, and it is blurred in the later period of the second element.

4. Cold and warm contrast

Often the warm yellow of the main body will be enhanced under strong backlight, so that the second element will gradually become cold blue, and the effect of cold and warm contrast will be obtained. Different from the previous contrast effect, the contrast of cold and warm colors will highlight the main body of warm colors in the picture, but will not ignore other elements of cool colors. In the later part of the picture below, the warm colors around the main body and the main body in the upper right corner of the picture were intentionally increased, and the sub-elements gradually became cold. The cold mountain in the picture is still very expressive.

Enhance insight

Changing the perspective effect of the picture is also a way to express the relationship between primary and secondary. As shown below, adjust the wide angle and super wide angle later, and do more exaggerated perspective processing to enhance the deformation of the picture, so that the main body in the middle will stand out.

Third, get the details of the picture and improve the dynamic range of the picture.

I think there are many ways to capture high dynamic images. Let's talk briefly here. We took it earlier. Sometimes we will take a photo of the brightest point in a picture, a photo of the darkened middle of the picture, and a photo of the darkest point in the last picture, and use the HDR synthesis function of PHOTOSHOP to process it.

1. Recreate the HDR screen to make it clear.

First, get a very gray picture, that is, the HDR picture mentioned above, and then enhance his light and shadow again. Because we are from gray to dark, the darkest and brightest places in the picture are rich in details. Through the primary and secondary relations we deal with, we can slowly see that the darkest places still have something to watch.

Fourth, deal with different lighting conditions.

From my movies, I found that I shoot mostly cloudy days and sunny days. As long as the exposure is handled properly, there will be light and clouds in the sky, which is more abundant than clear skies and pure cloudy days in Wan Li. Because I have just photographed many urban scenery in Nanjing, the following are all based on urban scenery.

1. Strong light and sunny days

When the light source is strong, it is more difficult to capture complete details, such as the light source point below is still exposed.

2. Sunrise and sunset

The picture of sunrise is more transparent than that of sunset, because the dust hasn't woken up in the morning, but the sunrise will soon become a strong light for a short time. When the sun goes down, the light will be very soft. If there is water in your shooting environment, you can shoot slowly with a filter.

3. Cloudy weather

Shooting on cloudy days is not recommended. I haven't taken a picture on a pure cloudy day. Note that there are differences between cloudy days and cloudy days in the weather forecast. The picture below was taken on a cloudy day. In addition, it will be more impactful to simulate a sunset through the later method.

4. Twilight Night

In the weak light, it is mainly to expose the dark parts at different speeds, or even to make up the light with a flashlight or Ipad for a long time. If there are elements such as lights in the landscape, pay attention to the exposure of light sources; In the dim light without lights, the building was exposed for a long time. If there is a starry sky, you can use a high sense to expose the starry sky.
