How many eccrine glands does human skin have per square centimeter on average?

143-339 sweat glands

The function of sweat glands is to remove water, salt and some wastes from blood vessels almost continuously. It is a slender pipe, which can be divided into three parts: gland, catheter and sweat mouth. The glandular duct twists and turns like a mass of silk scraps, obliquely surrounded by extremely fine smooth muscle fibers, and its outer layer is surrounded by a fine vascular network. The catheter is about 0.5cm long, extending from the deep dermis to the epidermis, passing through the epidermis and opening into sweat pores on the skin surface. If the sweat glands of the whole body are connected, it will be 9.5 kilometers long. Sweat glands are most common in palms and armpits. There are more than 370 sweat glands on the skin of the palm per square centimeter, with an average of 120- 130 sweat pores per square centimeter, and there are about 2 million sweat glands all over the body.
