Sixth grade composition: One thing in growing up

An unforgettable thing in growing up

Yang Tianyue

On my desk, there is a red and conspicuous certificate of honor. This is me. Won the third prize in the art festival photography competition. Whenever I see it, the beauty and richness of Dandong and my figure holding the camera will appear in my mind.

It was the National Day holiday last year. I applied for the art festival photography competition, and we went to Dandong specifically for this purpose. As soon as I got off the plane, I had a hunch: I would definitely win an award for photographing Dandong! Dandong is so beautiful. The small shops on the streets are one after another. The reflections of the green trees are one after another on the water of the Yalu River. They are sparkling and silently telling the story of the Yalu River Bridge. Taking a boat to the middle of the river, a conspicuous dividing line appeared in front of my eyes: the river on the North Korean side was blue and blue, and the river on our side was green and green. The magical river separated China and North Korea. Seeing this scene, I hurriedly took out my camera and took a photo of the lovely Yalu River, but it didn’t look good no matter how I took it, and I was sweating profusely. When my father saw it, he said with a smile: "The Yalu River alone will definitely not look good. It would be nice if we also took pictures of the surrounding scenery." I nodded, turned the camera down a little, and took pictures of the Yalu River Bridge and the riverside. The green trees said, "Well, the effect is really different!" I smiled happily, admiring my results with joy. Suddenly, a flash of white flashed before my eyes and disappeared. ah! It's a seagull! I hurriedly raised the camera and pressed the shutter when the seagulls flew over, but every time I could only take a picture of a snow-white bird tail. What should I do? Big beads of sweat dripped from my forehead, and my hands hung down weakly, feeling extremely disappointed. My arms were so sore that I really wanted to lie down and take a long nap. But I still clenched my fists and silently told myself: "Persistence is victory, you must persist!" Suddenly, my eyes lit up and I said excitedly: "Yes, I can't change the speed of the seagull, so I will change myself!" "As long as you press the shutter before the seagull flies over, wouldn't it be possible to take a photo?" As if there was a force that made me pick up the camera again, I clicked the shutter button before the seagull flew in front of my lens. I hurriedly looked at the camera and saw a flying seagull in front of my eyes. "Oh! It's taken! It's taken!" I danced with joy. In this way, every time I go to a beautiful place, I will pick up the camera, adjust the lens, adjust the posture, and try my best to capture the most beautiful place. After my efforts, I took 10 photos of Dandong, selected the best five and gave them to Art Teacher Wang.

The long wait during the winter vacation passed just like that, and I finally looked forward to the day when the awards were presented. The radio sound that day seemed to be particularly loud. Every time he said a name, my heart skipped a beat. I was so nervous that I could hardly breathe. When I heard "Third Prize in Photography Competition, Yang Tianyue", I couldn't believe my ears. At this time, the photo of seagulls flying appeared in front of me again: the blue sky, snow-white clouds, and the rolling mountains in the distance; nearby, the water of the Yalu River was clear and translucent, and in the middle, there was a snow-white seagull. Spread your wings and fly. "Well, that's great!" I couldn't help but feel proud. Holding the heavy certificate, excitement and excitement accompanied me. I knew that my hard work was not in vain, and I was rewarded! Everything about me is condensed in this little certificate.

Although this is only a third prize, it taught me to persevere. Persistence is victory, and it will benefit me throughout my life!
