What should I pay attention to when shooting snow scenes?
1. It's best not to take pictures of snow when it snows. Because the weather is generally dim when it snows, the visibility is poor, the color of the scenery is not bright, and the shooting effect is often not good. At this time, if you want to show the flying snowflakes, you should choose a dark background, so as to highlight the snowflakes.
2. Pay attention to choosing scenes with different shades when framing. The most taboo thing about shooting a snow scene is that the picture is white, bland and has no sense of hierarchy. Proper selection of some dark scenes will not destroy the performance of snow, but also help to adjust the color tone and make the picture rich in changes.
3. It is best to use backlight or sidelight when shooting snow scenes. Backlight and photometry can best express the texture of snow, making the hue and color of the picture varied.
4. It is very important to deal with exposure when shooting snow scenes. After the heavy snow covered the earth, the contrast between the ground and the scenery became great. At this time, if the exposure is not handled properly, it may be that the layering of the scenery or snow is all lost. The exposure correction of snow scene is usually: if a reflective exposure meter is used and aimed at the snow, the actual exposure should be 0.5- 1.5 higher than the photometric reading.
5. Because there is a big difference between the brightness of general scenery and the brightness of snow in the snow scene, one of them should be given priority to as much as possible in the composition. If it is dominated by snow, snow will occupy the main position in the picture, and the exposure control should be based on the brightness of snow; If other scenery in the snow scene is the main scene, the area occupied by snow in the picture should be as small as possible, so as to expose according to the brightness of the scene. If the light and dark parts account for half of the picture, then the light and dark parts may not perform well.
6. Because the light reflected by snow is often polarized light, when the contrast between snow and other surrounding scenery is too large, a polarizer can be used to reduce the brightness of snow, thus reducing the contrast between snow and its surrounding scenery. When shooting a snow scene on a cloudy day, the snow will be blue, so it is best to add a warm color filter (for example, 1B).
7. Take photos in snowy days, and pay attention to protect the camera. When the temperature is about MINUS 30 degrees Celsius, the camera often can't open the shutter due to lack of power or solidification of lubricating oil. Therefore, we should pay special attention to the warmth of the camera, and try to put the camera in the clothes we wear before or after shooting.
I wish you happiness!
