Why do some people think that human oil painting is art and human photography is not art?

As we all know, body art originated in the west. From the ancient Greek human body sculpture more than 2,000 years ago to the Renaissance human body oil painting in 14 ~ 16 century, to the human body photography after the appearance of photography technology in 19 century, and then to the human body painting after the 20th century, western human body art is mainly embodied in these four art forms.

In people's understanding of art, especially in the aesthetic cognition of oriental nations, the identity of human body sculpture art is basically the same, and they think that human body sculpture is a real art and a witness of ancient Greek and Roman civilization. Although there is controversy about the recognition of the art of human body oil painting, most people recognize the artistic value of human body oil painting. However, the recognition of human photography art is relatively low. Human body photography is a photo of naked human body, which has little artistic content, which is debatable. As for body painting, it is not widely popular, so people seldom talk about it.

Why do some people think that human oil painting is art and human photography is not art? I think there are three main reasons for this:

1. Body oil painting came into being during the Renaissance of14-16th century. Its creative theme is "humanism", that is, people are the masters of the world, and they have the desire and power to pursue happiness and freedom. The human body oil painting publicizes the human desire through the naked expression of the human body. After being bound by religious theocracy for thousands of years in the Middle Ages, it has played a positive role in people's ideological liberation and human liberation. Renaissance is called "the milestone of opening modern European civilization". Human body oil painting, which was born and raised in Sri Lanka, has thus established its sacred historical position. This is unmatched by human photography.

Secondly, human body oil painting, as an important form of western oil painting, develops with the emergence and development of oil painting. From the15th century to the 20th century, from the historical theme of religious myths to the realistic theme of social life, from the initial expression of God or in the name of God to the later expression of ordinary people, the contents, themes, ideas and themes are extensive, rich and profound. This is also unmatched by human photography.

Thirdly, in the way and process of creation, human body oil painting is created by hand, which contains more and richer thoughts and feelings of the painter. Human body photography is accomplished by photographers relying more on photographic equipment, and its "artistic creation" cannot be compared with human body oil painting. At the same time, the texture of oil painting pictures is different from that of photographic pictures. Oil painting pictures are generally soft and moist, while photographic pictures are generally smooth and bright, which will also bring some different feelings to people visually.
