Although my body doesn't have wings like a bright phoenix, what does it mean?

Hello, "Although my body doesn't have wings like Cai Feng's" means "Without Cai Feng's wings, you can't compare with Qi Fei". This sentence comes from Untitled by Li Shangyin, a poet in the Tang Dynasty.

Tang Dynasty: Li Shangyin

The stars were bright last night, but there was a cool breeze at midnight. Our banquet is on the side of Hualou Temple and the east of the county.

Without Cai Feng's wings, it is impossible to be Qi Fei in fly with me; The heart is like a soul, and the feelings are the same.

Guessing and intrigue, wine warms the heart; This group of people came to the bet of drinking friends, and a win-lose red in candlelight.

Alas, it's time to call the roll in the morning when you hear the drums of the fifth watch; Riding to Lantai is like the wind in the wind.

Explanation:

Last night, the stars were shining, but there was a cool breeze blowing in the middle of the night;

Our banquet is located on the west side of the painting building and on the east side of Guitang.

Without Cai Feng's wings, you can't compare with Qi Fei;

The heart is like a soul, and the feelings are closely linked.

Guess and play with each other, and drink spring wine every other seat to warm your heart;

Let's make a toast in groups. The candles are red.

Alas, when you listen to the five drums, you should go to court;

Riding to Lantai is like Artemisia capillaris floating in the wind.

Creative background:

The so-called "untitled" poems have always had different views: some people think that they should belong to fables, while others think that they are all endowed with skills. As far as Li Shangyin's Untitled poems are concerned, they all seem to belong to eroticism, but in fact they also refer to something, but it is inconvenient to say it. This poem is a recollection of the erotic scene where we met. Write the time and place of the banquet first; Then write the separation of flesh and human feelings; Rewrite the feelings of meeting; Finally, write down goodbye and leave hate. Gorgeous but not obscene, real but not crazy.

About the author:

Li Shangyin, a native of Yuxi, xi, was a famous poet Fan Nansheng in the Tang Dynasty. His ancestral home is Qinyang, Hanoi (now Jiaozuo, Henan) and Xingyang, Zhengzhou. He is good at poetry writing, and his parallel prose also has high literary value. He is one of the most outstanding poets in the late Tang Dynasty. Together with Du Mu, it is called "Xiao", and together with Wen, it is called "Wen Li". Because his poems and essays are similar to the paragraphs and essays of the same period, all three of them rank sixteenth in the family, so they are also called "Thirty-six Style". His poems are novel in conception and beautiful in style, especially some love poems and untitled poems are touching, beautiful and moving, and are widely read. However, some poems are too obscure to be solved, and there is even a saying that "poets always love Quincy and hate that no one writes about Jian Zheng". Caught in the struggle between Niu and Li, I was frustrated all my life. After his death, he was buried in his hometown of Qinyang (now the junction of Qinyang and Aibo County in Jiaozuo City, Henan Province). His works are included in Li Yishan's poems.

Appreciate:

The first pair of couplets wrote last night's reunion with tortuous pen and ink, and the couplet wrote today's acacia. Necklace couplet "across the spring wine, when it warms me, I will remind you how to bet, shooting wax and red lights in different camps" is the excitement at the banquet, and the tail couplet "until the drums beat, alas, calling me to perform my duties, I rode off like a cut aquatic plant drifting" wrote people's helplessness in the rivers and lakes. The whole poem takes psychological activities as the starting point, and the poet's feelings are delicate and true, depicting a puzzling emotion.
