What about Canon r6? Is it worth buying?
Canon r6 is worth buying for the following reasons:
1. Body design, weight and material: EOSR5 weighs 738g alone, while EOSR6 is slightly smaller and lighter. Only 680g. Although it seems that the weight difference is not too big, for some long-term plateau hiking trips, such as the east slope of Mount Everest, Bogda, Meili North Slope, etc., you will prefer the EOSR6, which is easier to carry.
In terms of design, the EOSR6 does not have a shoulder screen, which does not have a big impact on my shooting. When using the R system, I have long been accustomed to checking the picture and shooting parameters through the flip screen and viewfinder.
In terms of body material, the EOSR5 is made of strong and durable magnesium alloy, while the EOSR6 is a metal frame plastic body. The magnesium alloy material and its sturdiness and durability must in principle be better than the metal frame plastic machine. It is stronger, but for daily shooting, there is no essential difference in protection.
2. Electronic viewfinder and LCD screen: For mirrorless cameras, the electronic viewfinder and LCD screen are very frequently used components. Photographers use them to check composition and exposure. The electronic viewfinder of EOSR5 has 5.76 million pixels, while the EOSR6 has 3.69 million pixels. The LCD screen of EOSR5 has 2.1 million pixels, while the EOSR6 has 1.62 million pixels. There is no doubt that the higher the pixels of the electronic viewfinder and LCD screen, the more delicate the viewing experience will be.
3. Dual card slot design and video recording: Both the EOSR5 and EOSR6 bodies adopt a dual card slot design. The dual card slots of the EOSR5 are CFexpress and SD cards, and the EOSR6 uses dual SD cards. slot design.
The CFE card is mainly used for 8K video shooting and continuous high-speed continuous shooting under high pixels. It can record 8KRAW, 4:2:210bit, and also supports C-log gamma curve. EOSR5 also supports recording 4K video at a high frame rate of 120p. It is currently the only camera that supports 120P upscaling in 4K.
In contrast, EOSR6 supports recording up to 4K/60p video. In terms of continuous shooting speed, both cameras have a mechanical shutter of 12 frames/second and an electronic shutter of 20 frames/second. Because the EOSR6 has lower pixels, the number of shots it can sustain is more. Also note that CFexpress cards are much more expensive than SD cards.
Notes when purchasing a camera:
1. Check the completeness of accessories according to the instruction manual
Generally speaking, a digital SLR camera includes a host, a battery, a charger, Power cord, USB cord, shoulder strap, CD, manual, warranty card and other accessories (digital SLR is sold without memory card). If it is a kit, a lens will also be added. When purchasing a kit, be sure to check the lens.
2. Test the dead pixels of the photosensitive element
Test the dead pixels of the photosensitive element through the DeadPixelTest software. The most ideal state is that there are no dead pixels and noise. Of course, a small amount of noise is completely acceptable.
3. Check the LCD screen
The method of checking whether there are bright or dark spots on the LCD screen is the same as when buying a laptop or LCD monitor: take a completely black picture, and then take another A completely white picture can be used to observe with the naked eye whether there are bright spots or dark spots on the LCD screen.
4. Check the time setting
For a new digital SLR, you will be asked to enter the current time when you turn it on for the first time. If the time inside a newly opened digital SLR has been set, it means that the digital SLR has been used.
5. Identification of batteries and other accessories
For an unused battery, the battery contacts should have no scratches. In addition, compared to original batteries, the workmanship of fake batteries is rougher. For example, the burrs on fake batteries are more serious, and the batteries often appear shiny, while the luster of real batteries is duller.
Another way is to weigh it. Generally speaking, fake batteries tend to be lighter than original batteries, while original batteries tend to be heavier.
